  • Old People Love it Too!
I got this for my husband for his main present. He is 70 and I am 63 so we maybe are not the target age group but honestly this is easy to use and a fun experience. My husband had tried it at my daughters house and he was raving about it so I surprised him with his own for Christmas and it was a huge hit. My son in law helped him set it up but he has been able to play and get games etc without too much frustration. He's not very tech savvy, so I woud say this is rather user friendly. I tried it as well and it comes with a spacer so I can fit it on with my glasses. I was surprised I could see without reading glasses but there is some sort of magic going on that allows you to see clearly. I tried a mini golf game and a national park set and thought they were great. I was surprised that the price was so affordable for such a high tech item. Another nice thing is that you do not have to plug this into a TV or anything....although my son in law did cast it to our tv somehow so we could see what was going on. Very cool item and I can't wait to see what else they come up with. As we get older and maybe can't get around as much this gives us fun experiences right at home. • You’ll never want to take this off!
At least, not if you become a Beat Saber fanatic (like me). It’s some of the easiest yet hardest exercise I’ve ever gotten! I haven’t been motivated by gyms, ever, and thanks to working a lot from home these days I’ve become very sedentary. Not anymore! This thing easily gets used 60-90 minutes a day; usually an hour after work, and I take some time between meetings to get up and move with it. I guess it’s more about Beat Saber for me, than the headset. 🤣 Tracking on it isn’t great; they’re improving the controllers but who knows how long it’ll be before they’re available for the Quest 2. Regardless, it’s still an insane amount of fun. It will strengthen your neck muscles because it’s heavy; watching shows on it looks awesome but may give you motion sickness. For those of us with astigmatism, you may have to wear your glasses or contacts, but they also make lenses for astigmatism that can be used on the headset itself and the eyes are already somewhat adjustable to help with the 3D aspect. Be prepared—VERY prepared to get hooked, and to get every available accessory, 3rd party or no. There’s a great pair of hand grips available on here, I highly recommend using them. There are an assortment of extenders for further reach, but those are awkward. It is a life-saving requirement to get better headgear; the one provided just doesn’t do enough, is ungainly, and not the least bit comfortable. Because the Quest 2 weighs quite a bit, that weight goes entirely to the front of your head, which can create unnecessary neck strain. Oculus does provide a slightly improved version of the head gear, but to be honest, there are much better 3rd party versions. Grab something with some padding; make sure it has balanced weight in the back like an extra battery pack, and you’re golden. A floor mat helps too. Oh, and a charging station. See what I mean? Once you start, you won’t stop. Lots of great games available on here, too, though honest the Remote Desktop feature is just weird. Get a good headpiece and you’ll never want to turn it off. Have fun! ... show more

  • Amazing!!! Fantastic tool to get back into shape.
I bought the Meta Quest 2 to see whether it could motivate me to move a bit my body and potentially lose a bit of weight. Well, it makes me move and sweat a lot. I am very often sore the next day but still in a physical shape good enough to keep exercising. The fitness games are so good, in particular Supernatural, Les Mills Bodycombat and Eleven Table Tennis. Beat Saber is also pretty good to warm up. Because these are games, you are motivated to beat your latest score or beat other players' scores. The coaches in the games in particular in Supernatural are super useful to help you with warming up, cooling down, stretching and motivating you to push yourself a bit further. The selection of exercises is huge from 2 min to 45 min (depending on the games). Also, there are a lot more fitness games I have not tried yet so I don't think I'll get bored anytime soon. If you are trying to exercise to lose weight and to just keep your body healthy but you never had the motivation to constantly go to the gym, you should give virtual reality a try. The headset is not too heavy, There are cameras all around the headset that let you see what is around you in your room when you step out of the playing zone you specified. There is no need for a computer or your phone. The battery lasts for 2-3 hours but you can get extra batteries if needed. I have zero complaint about the Meta Quest 2. It is an amazing product/tool and for $350, it is a good deal (though if it was cheaper, it would always be better). Give it a try! Highly recommended!!! ... show more
