I was pushing my 4 year old to ride a balance bike, but he only ride it for about 2-3 mins before giving up. I should have picked this up first, he's been riding it daily with the training wheels and the smile he has is priceless. Assembly was a breeze and the bike is holding up great. I've noticed the training wheels start to get loose after a few rides, but I just quickly tighten it up and it's good to go for a few more weeks. I should have bought this years ago! ... show more

This is a pretty good bike for starters. Putting it together wasn’t too bad. I had missing pieces to be able to put on two safety reflectors (missing screws). The training wheels are of poor quality and bent slightly with a little more weight than my 7 year old daughter. I wish this one came with handle brakes as opposed to the pedal brake. My child I think would pick up on using the handle brakes quicker than pushing back on the pedals, but not a deal breaker. It has great sturdy tires for most terrains and is helpful. ... show more

When the bicycle came the first thing I noticed was that the box was heavy. Not to worry, all it meant was that this thing was sturdy. I was impressed with the way the parts were packaged. You can very quickly determine if anything is missing. This bicycle was complete. The bike comes with a spanner, and Allen wrench, The spanner is chrome plated (nice touch). The bike is mostly put together and anyone who is used to doing minor maintenance on their bicycles can easily manage the assembly. I maybe took a quick glance at the instruction once or twice, but was able to put it together pretty much without them. Also included was a sheet of decals with letters of the alphabet with the vendor's invitation to "Name your bicycle". The decals can be placed on the tubing of the bike frame. (Nice little touch.) I was very impressed with the construction, packaging, accessories, sturdiness, ease of assembly, quality of parts and appearance of the bike. Oh yah, and by the way, it has a "quick release" seat. As the Child grows you can raise the seat without using tools. There are plastic covers for the bolts as well. The bicycle cost more than some of the others I was looking at, but I think it was worth it. I give it a very positive review. Good job Joystar! I like doing reviews and appreciate it when someone puts an effort into giving a good assessment to help me with my shopping; therefore, I usually go back and adjust my review over time if I find a problem. After my grandson has used it for a few months, if I find a problem, I will adjust this review to make it known. If any of you have spotted my past reviews you'll see that I call vendors out when they deserve it, but right now this one looks like a winner! ... show more

We purchased this bike as a gift for our grandson. It’s a nice looking bicycle. Minimal assembly required. The bike does not have a hand brake as stated in the description.

We bought the 14” bike for my son’s 4th birthday. He had ridden a Strider bike previously and was pretty good at balancing on it. He used the training wheels for a little bit to get used to the pedals and brakes but he fell a lot on bumps and ramps bc of the training wheels when he didn’t go up the ramp straight. He started learning without training wheels in May and was riding pretty well by June. He still had some trouble starting and stopping but the 14” was a good size for him. Now in December, it seems like he’s almost ready to outgrow it. Overall, we’re happy with the quality of the bike. It is heavy to carry though and did take some time to put together. We had one issue with the pedal coming off a couple months in but we were able to fix it ourselves. ... show more

We have now 3 of these bikes. They are very easy to assemble and are good quality. I would highly recommend these. They are great little starter bikes. And the cost is affordable as well.
