It was NOT easy to put together. You definitely need an extra set of hands to help hold pieces into place. But my kids love it. It’s their second night sleeping on it and it holding up very sturdy. They are comfortable. I ordered 5 inch twin size mattresses to put on them and maybe it’s the brand of mattress I used but they do not fit all the way. The bunk bed took about 2 hrs to put together as every single piece needed to be connected. A few pieces had some paint damages and the “fix” was awful. I continue to hear the wood creaking a bit when the kids get in and out the bed, but I hope that is just temporary as the wood settles a bit. It was pretty easy to assemble but one hole was not allowing the screws to meet, so we had a difficult time with just that one. Just built the twin over twin bunk bed today. It feels OK sturdy, but the top bunk support beam has a crack in it. Doesn't inspire confidence as the bunk itself is quite heavy. If the beam broke, hopefully the slats will keep the person on the bottom safe. I've reached out to support to see if they can send a replacement. Assembly was OK. The instructions are not step-by-step. Rather a blown out image and you have to use your imagination to figure out how things go, and the order. Wasn't bad for me as I am an engineer, but I would say, if you build Lego Technics, then you should be OK, otherwise there could be issues. Pay close attention to the headboards, they are not the same. ... show more
