JoyJolt Glass Food Storage Containers with Lids are made with a thicker glass than most other containers I own. These are definitely leak-proof and didn’t spill a drop when I loaded them up and shook them around. There is a lot of protection to be removed from the packaging before washing. The best feature of these is that there is an actual hinge on the flaps which makes these much easier to lock down and hopefully adds to the durability. I was not sure about the removable gasket for cleaning and felt I would have to get tweezers or something to remove it but at least one of the gaskets came loose after washing and had to be re-installed so it turns out its not so hard after the initial run through the dishwasher. These stack and don’t nest so if storage space is an issue you would not like these. The lids don’t always sit perfectly flat and bulge some so they don’t always stack smoothly. I did receive one lid with broken plastic piece on the hinge. I believe I received it this way as I didn’t find any pieces of the broken section in the dishwasher. I don’t believe it affects the lids ability to seal but am disappointed in the quality control. I still highly recommend these. ... show more

    • As borosilicate, should perform like the old (discontinued) Pyrex and Anchor Hocking containers.

With lid, exterior dimensions are are about 8 1/4" long, 6 3/8" wide, and 2 1/2" tall. To get the interior dimensions, subtract about 3/8" from the preceding numbers to allow for the lip around the container. The silicone seal fits in a channel on the underside of the lid. Lid snaps onto a groove on the underside of the container lip. Important to note that Vendor says to remove lids before using in a microwave or oven. I made extra soup/stew with pasta, meatballs, and canned soup for use in two of these containers. Flipped the containers over and shook them. No leaks. Froze them, then pop them into the microwave. No issues to report and cleanup was hassle-free. Didn't oven bake in them. There aren't markings of any sort on the containers or lids. These are supposed to be borosilicate so they should behave similarly to the (long discontinued) Pyrex or Anchor Hocking containers of old. If you examine the edge of the container, soda-lime glass has a bluish-green tint, while borosilicate is clear. Couldn't really tell with these as I think I see a slight blue-green at times. But, I have eye problems and tints on my glasses. Deducted one star because durability is TBD, and I wonder why Vendor didn't supply microwave-safe lids. Really like these Glass Storage Containers with snap seal Lids from JoyJolt. They are that ideal medium size at 35oz to save the single serving left after a meal. The glass is stain proof and the lids with the built in seal are leak proof - I even tried filling a container half full with water and after sealing the lid shook it as hard as I could and not a drop leaked out. The best part is these glass containers are microwave safe, dishwasher safe and stackable to save space. ... show more

I've been a big fan of their products in general. I have been a JoyJolt fan for over a year now and have purchased several of their products. They're ALL quality products in my experience but let's get back to these containers. To me glass containers are a bit of a commodity item and all similar but these are just a little better than most. If the price is similar I'd choose these within a heartbeat. Why? Well the lids are waterproof and leakproof. The glass is thick and seems very sturdy. I won't worry about this in a backpack even sitting vertically. The lid clips well. I don't know how else to describe it, but with the right amount of force to open it (not too much nor little) it almost silently locks into place. I've had competing products that sound like you can almost annoy your neighbors popping them open or close. The lid seal looks strong and the plastic isn't too brittle nor is it too thin. I've held some meals and while it's not a scientific test they seem to hold heat or cold a bit longer than the purely plastic containers. Also, being 100% glass the chances of any chemical contamination of my food is virtually zero. All benefits, no drawbacks, and all arrived without a scratch due to the good packaging! Huge Joyjolt fan from their vacuum double walled glasses over a year ago until these. Yet another home run (or grand slam?) JoyJolt. ... show more

Snapware has changed my life – well, it changed my refrigerator and food storage. I bought several sets a few years ago and use them for so many different things. The Pyrex set was perfect – or at least I thought when I first got them. But then the little snap tabs started to break off. I checked the Pyrex website and replacing the lids is more expensive than buying a whole new set. When I saw these on Amazon, I thought I would really like to have more of this size, so I ordered them. When I got them, I realized that they had hinged tabs, circumventing the breaking problem. They are a perfect size for self-prepared frozen meals . . . and so many other uses as well. I am very happy with them. My Pyrex glass seems almost invincible, so I hope these are resilient. I am not willing to drop them just to find out. I found one small problem with the glassware – when stacked, they tend to stick together, a problem I have not experienced with the Pyrex Snapware. I got around it by separating them with paper towels when stacking them. The set is more expensive than Snapware at Costco, but if I don’t have to replace lids, they might be a good, long-term investment. ... show more
