We recently had all our windows replaced, and with the cost of the new ones, I did not want to drill any holes in the casings to hang new shades. We had used "blackout" roller shades that were OK, but over time those yellow and the roll-up mechanism often won't lock in place easily. I looked at several no-drill blackout cellular shades, and settled on Joydeco. I ordered the 34" width for my windows, which measured 34 1/2 from inside edge to edge. The Joydeco shades fit perfectly in the openings of my windows right out of the box. The ratcheting system was easy to tighten, and will be easy to remove when I'm ready to paint all the new casings. The shades block light wonderfully, and they will be great in the winter, as they provide a bit of insulation from the cold glass. I'm thrilled with the ease of installation and the overall quality of the shades. Highly recommended. VIDEO NOTE: In my video review, I accidentally said that you order your shade a half inch larger...you actually order the shades one half-inch shorter than your opening. (My window opening was 34 1/2", so I ordered a 34" shade.)

Love the look the fit is better than was stated, there is about 3/16 of an inch on each side that is smaller than the header, the result less light being around the shade. I have a very large window so am using two side by side hang perfectly. The reason I got these was the insulating quality and one large one was way to much money, the window they are in is on the east side of a mountain home in the summer way to much sun and heat in early morning, in the winter the cold is unbearable coming in this window, the replacement cost of this window is just not in my budget. So what I can say is the morning sun did not over heat the room this AM, these are installed behind shears and darkening curtains (told you window was bad) so thes are the first layer of protection. There was some heat between the shade and the shears but no heat on the room side of the curtain ( this is normally so hot you can hardly touch it) think the summer problem is solved, we’ll see if it works as well in the winter. So now my complaint the screws are just crap, when are the manufacturers going to understand we use power tools, stripped the heads on two screws before switching to a hand screw driver…. You are warned! I have told you a story about three layers all of which is inside the window, frame is very deep and still tight getting it all in, make sure you measure the depth of your window frame it might make a difference especially if you have other window treatments. I think these are some thing most people will be happy, the install was a snap except the screws.

Great shade. Easy to install.

Fit as advertised. All advertised parts included. Excellent black out ability. Easy to install, but I could not figure out how to attach the little plastic handle for raising and lowering the shade. I did not find that it was needed so I left it off. It works fine. The rubber pads for the side had very little adhesion. I'm not sure that it is actually rubber. This did not affect my ability to use the shade.

These blinds are easy to install and come packaged well. They are more paper like than brands you may have seen at the big box stores so unsure how they will hold up but the cheaper price warrants that. Due to the more paper like quality they are a little louder when opening and closing as well. Additionally we ordered black and they really come as more of a dark shade of blue so keep that in mind if purchasing black.
