This fireplace insert is awesome. It has two heat settings, high and low and both do a great job of heating our living room. We built a cabinet around it and the top doesn't even get warm from the heater being directly under it. No other part of the insert gets hot either except where the air comes out. It stands on its own and I didn't have to fasten it to the cabinet in any way, it just sits inside of it. It's got a thick cord and a three prong plug. There is no assembly, just plug it in and it's ready to go. You can change the colors of the flame and wood. The flames can be red, yellow, orange, or blue. The logs can be yellow, orange, or red. You can also adjust the brightness of each and the speed of the flames. Both the flames and the logs look nice and mostly realistic. It is quite large and is a big statement piece. The remote works great too. We really love this insert and have made it a permanent fixture in our home. Highly recommend! ... show more
