Features

  • Premium MaterialOur rockwool grow cubes are very effective hydroponics substrates, made of high-quality basalt and chalk, being melted at high temperature then centrifuged at high speed to spraye into 0.005mm fibers and pressed into blocks.
  • Benefits of Soilless CultivationRockwool cubes are superior to other typical hydroponic supplies, with up to 96% porosity and 91% water. Even distribution of nutrients, does not absorb nutrients from the crop, encouraging rapid root growth and higher yield so that suitable for mechanized seedling.
  • Easy to TransplantRockwool cubes can be cultivated either whole or individually. Since the rock wool is transversely textured, we recommend wearing gloves and cutting with scissors instead of tearing by hand. Rockwool grow cubes keep the seeds long enough to establish a root system because of their high water absorption, so that the survival rate of transplanting is high.
  • Wide ApplicationThese rockwool starter plugs have pure composition and handy planting hole, widely used in hydroponic, seed starting, rooting, plant propagation, cloning systems and so on. Low environmental impact, easy to handle compared to other substrates, great for planting enthusiasts and commercial growers.
  • Package Included4 sheets of 50 cubes, 200 cubes in total. Simply soak the rockwool cube briefly(10 sec) in acidic nutrient solution and adjust its pH value around to 5.5. Don't squeeze it!

  • Conveniently sealed package, same number of baskets as cubes
Size: 50 Plugs+50 basket
These small rockwool cubes are ideal for quickly cloning plants that you will repot, or starting seeds that you will replant as seedlings. It is advisable to wear gloves and possibly a mask when handling rock wool, especially if you will be tearing the cubes apart instead of cutting them with scissors. I like that these small cubes come with the right amount of baskets to use them all at once. Because the whole cube will get re-planted with the plant to avoid damaging the growing roots, you can reuse the plastic cups, but not the cubes. This set does come with some instructions, an improvement over many others, making it ideal for a beginner. You can get started with any container that holds water… These are small enough to fit in a plastic storage box, something to raise the acidity of the water such as lemon juice, and hydroponic plant nutrients that you can find pretty easily in dry pellet form as replacements for the nutrients that come with a starter hydroponic system. This can be used indoors under a grow light, or outside. This would be a good gift for anyone starting out with hydroponics, any parent who wants to teach their kids about cloning plants or growing seeds, or anyone with a small patio garden. It does not come with a container to put them in, so that will also be needed, as well as the hydroponic plant nutrients. ... show more

  • Sturdy and worked!
Size: 50 Plugs+50 basket
These rockwool plugs were perfect for rooting basil. I took a basil plant and stuck it in a cube and kept it watered for a few days. It started rooting and it grew there. I had some algae growth but that is expected given you are providing the perfect environment for algae to grow. The black net cups were very sturdy. I thought they were going to be cheap, like those plastic strawberry baskets at the farmers market. These were stiff and rigid, so it made supporting plants in a hydroponic environment much less worrisome. ... show more

  • Rockwool falls apart
Size: 98 Plugs
All of the rock wools arrived fallen apart into small layers of fibers. One might need to use scissor to cut into square and somehow glue it back together into a cube or payer the broken pieces into a net post that it can establish a base. This is the first time we ordered from this brand and sadly it will be the last for its poor quality. ... show more

  • Only 1" tall, not the traditional 2"
Size: 200 Plugs
I've been using Grodan rockwool in plug trays but thought I would see if these less expensive ones would work. They won't. Cubes I've been using are 2" tall, 1" wide in both dimensions on the top. These cubes are only an inch tall so they would not be anywhere near the water in my plug trays. They were cheap enough I'm not going to bother returning them and lesson learned, back to the quality stuff I've used in the past. ... show more
