I've had it for few days. The size is true as described. It's also beautiful. It doesn't shed. I haven't vacuumed it yet. I have another jute rug under my desk from another manufacturer. It was much thinner and was not straight and was slipping. I put rug pad gripper underneath this one anticipating I would have the same problem. This rug is much thicker and cushy. It also feels nice on bare feet. I even sit on it and do yoga on it. So far so good. I use it in a low traffic room and walk on it with bare feet. No food, no drinks in the room, no pets. Charming natural 5x8 chunky jute rug of quality fabrication. The rug tones are consistent with the pictured colors. The rug has a nice thickness and substantial weight. Unfortunately, although it presents great visually, it is uncomfortable to walk on without shoes due to the rug's firm knobby texture. In addition, there was a pungent factory odor on the rug that fortunately dissipated after a few days of fresh air exposure. I have had uneven results buying rugs on Amazon over the years. But, I can tell you that this is a QUALITY rug. Love it. The texture really pops, and it lays down flat from the start. Great natural color as well. I was dreading the "jute" smell that always comes with these rugs, but this one smells fine. I did not notice any smell at all. This really is an upgrade to the standard jute rugs, and has a great coastal feel--awesome since we live on the coast! I would recommend this to everyone. Wish it came in a larger size than 8X10, but really happy with it. Does not feel as rough as many jute rugs, but am not expecting it to be super soft. As will all jute rugs, do not use a vacuum with a beater on it. Anticipate that this rug will last for quite some time, and am getting another one for our sunporch. I have noticed that the price seems to fluctuate, so worth watching to get a deal if you have time. ... show more

I purchased this rug in 2023 and initially was happy with it, however over time several issues became impossible to ignore. Shortly after unrolling it, there was a noticeable odor coming from the rug that took a very long time to fade. In addition to that, I began to notice areas of discoloration that made the rug look uneven in tone even though it had not been exposed to spills or harsh cleaning products. For the first year, shedding was not an issue. However, after about a year of normal use, the rug began shedding significantly. Fibers started coming loose and collecting on the floor and clothing, and the overall appearance of the rug declined. I would have returned it when these problems became apparent, but the rug is extremely large and heavy, which made returning or transporting it unrealistic. Between the odor, discoloration, and shedding that developed over time, I’m disappointed in how this rug has held up and would encourage others to consider long-term durability before purchasing. ... show more
