I was hesitant to order this rug since the reviews were a mixed bag. I mean who wants to repack and lug a 12x15 jute rug back for a return? "Me" said no one ever. I am thrilled to say that it arrived and was beautiful. The rug's natural jute colors were as pictured. It is thick, about 1/2 inch. The rug did have a natural jute aroma as should be expected, but it disapated in a few days. I expected it to shed as jute rugs do, but was pleasantly surprised at how little it did-hardly noticeable. The weave was tight and it had a few knots that protruded above the plain of the rug. Again, it is a jute rug. The rug laid flat almost immediately but I let it lay out in the garage for a few days to relax before bringing it into the house to place it on the floor. I used this 12x15 jute rug to layer another large rug over it. The edges stick out under the top rug 12" on all sides and the combination of both rugs actually made my space look larger. I used a rug pad beneath the jute rug and have no problems with the rug slipping out of place. If you use the jute rug on wood or engineered flooring make sure to use a pad so as not to have the jute scratch your flooring. Finding a 12x15 jute rug is difficult, especially one of this quality and price. Even had I not wanted to use it for a bottom rug for layering, the quality was such that I would have kept the rug. I am completely satisfied with this beautiful, natural rug and am glad I took a chance and ordered it. No lugging for me! ... show more

I recently added the 3' x 5' natural rug by the entrance to our patio, and I’m genuinely impressed. The texture is gorgeous - thick, natural, and hand-woven. It instantly gave the space a warm, inviting feel. It lays flat right out of the package (no weird curling corners!), and best of all, it doesn’t shed like other jute rugs I’ve tried in the past. It feels soft underfoot while still being sturdy enough for high-traffic areas. Absolutely beautiful. Love love love. It does come folded in a square shape which is annoying but thank goodness it flattens put beautiful and fast!! Beware of jute smell for days. It’s unavoidable but it’s worth the beauty and luxurious feel of this rug that is every second of what I would cross my fingers it would be. Hardly sheds and thankfully it will seem to last me a while! ... show more

Charming natural 5x8 chunky jute rug of quality fabrication. The rug tones are consistent with the pictured colors. The rug has a nice thickness and substantial weight. Unfortunately, although it presents great visually, it is uncomfortable to walk on without shoes due to the rug's firm knobby texture. In addition, there was a pungent factory odor on the rug that fortunately dissipated after a few days of fresh air exposure. The rug lays flat and was rolled for shipping which helped eliminate creasing. Definitely a bang for your buck rug investment!! ... show more

If I could give it zero stars, I would, for so many reasons. We have had this rug for just two months; and as much as I loved it when we first put it down, I hate it just as much after just two months. First of all, it has no backing and is reversible, which sounds like a good thing…until you slip and slide on it. Get carpet tape: You have to tape the entire perimeter; and the rug is so floppy, it’s nearly impossible to get a straight line so it looks wavy on the edges. Non-slip carpet pad? The pad stays put but the rug slides on the pad. It also is full of visible knots that are not colored navy, so there are several spots of natural jute color visible. We tried to tuck in all the knots, but they work their way out. And they unravel, too. (Please watch my video and see my photos to see for yourself.) The rug scoots as you walk on it. Talk about a tripping hazard! And don’t even ask what it smells like if it gets wet and you try to wipe up a little spill. If you plan to put this in a room where nobody walks and you will just look at it as you walk by in the hallway, go for it. But if you need a rug for a room where people live, you may want to look elsewhere. It’s going out with the trash this week; I’m out $250 and will look at a bare floor until I can afford to replace it. ... show more

    • Instant Allergic Reaction, Very Uneven Work on Edges

I'm not seeing how this rug has been rated so highly. It is clearly handmade (a plus) but very primitively (a minus.) There are loose woven sections sticking up on both sides of the rug, and the edges are very uneven, wobbling like a first time knitter's project. The colors are beautiful, and it is thicker than expected. The description says no shedding, but just laying it out required cleaning the hardwood floors and dusting every surface. On another note, I have owned several jute rugs, and do not have hay fever, but I had a very distinct allergic response to this rug. I had to leave the room and air it out - sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose, the works. The dust and fibers are intense. I ordered a second larger one for another area, and I am definitely returning without opening it. I am keeping this one, only because it was so difficult to roll out (very heavy and awkward) and test with furniture. The rug will work, even with the flaws, if the fumes can dissipate. The package is taped plastic sheeting, and we had to cut the length to get it out (it's folded and then rolled, fyi.) I'm disappointed in the quality for the price. It does have good colors for my needs and the 8x8 will work in the seating area, but I will order a thinner, less textural rug for the couch area, and hope they complement each other. Another note: this is a very thick rug and will be a trip hazard for anyone with mobility issues or just not paying attention. ... show more

Love it!! Never mind the cat shot lol but it did have a little smell goes away tho!! If you have dogs that like to run round their nails will get caught and pull the thread up but you can just cut it! But other then that very cute it does move round when animals have zombies the material is nice the size is 6”7 ... show more
