First thing to know, this rug is not very thick (less than half an inch). I always check out the pile height when buying rugs, so I can determine how thick of a rug pad to get with it. In this case, I bought a 1/4" dual surface felt rug pad. I knew it would be moving around a lot in my kitchen, and it has made all the difference. A thicker pad wouldn't be unwelcome, either. The rug is soft, and with the pad, it's decently cushioned. It took a couple of days to get the corners to lie flat - I used some hand weights on each corner to help with this. But once they were flat, they stayed flat. Great rug, and not a bad price, I definitely recommend, WITH a felt pad. ... show more
