I purchased the yellow needing a mustard/ golden yellow to match sunflowers. These were exactly what I was looking for. They are super soft, and yes, the pattern is only on one side. The one sided pattern doesn't bother me. I'm just using the pillow covers for decorative purposes. I can't really review how functional they are, except that my teenager throws them around daily.
