My husband is hooked on this Johnny B Mode gel and honestly I get why. It smells really fresh, like clean not cologne-y, and I always notice it in a good way when he uses it. The hold is awesome too. It keeps his hair in place all day but doesn’t make it look stiff or crunchy. His hair still feels soft, like there’s nothing in it, and there’s no flaking or weird residue at all. He’s got pretty thick hair and this stuff handles it no problem without making it look greasy or weighed down. He also likes that it rinses out easily and doesn’t build up over time. I will say it’s a bit pricier than some of the drugstore gels but he swears it’s worth it. We’ve tried cheaper ones that either flake, don’t hold, or smell funky and this one just does it all right. He uses it every day and it’s become his go-to so we just keep buying it.
