Wasn't sure what to expect with this fountain but when it showed up it I loved it immediately. It's just beautiful, and with a little shopping at my local Hobby store I love it even more. It is solid and the coloring is gorgeous. It IS quite loud but I just shoved a 1.5"x4" piece of (non-sinkable) foam in the back and it is now a lovely melodic trickle. Don't send it back for being loud. A little bit of imagination makes this fountain a real keeper. My husband loves it, my neighbors love it, and my kids love it. Two thumbs up. First of all - this fountain is not brown, it is a smoky purple. I knew this before buying it and I'm ok with that so I'm still giving 5 stars! The fountain had easy to follow set up instructions and was up and running in no time. The rocks came with it which was a nice plus since that was not the case with all fountains I had looked at. The motor is relatively quiet and not bothersome. Water trickling noise can be adjusted by rearranging the rocks. I found the best sound came from placing one rock in the middle jug and playing around with the rocks that the water fell onto at the bottom. Great ZEN-like atmosphere for the office! The fountain is more purple than shown. Doesn't bother my cat, though. She loves drinking from it, and has easily tripled her daily water intake. Quiet motor has tiny suction cups that anchor it inside the bowl.

The media could not be loaded. The water fountain that I've been using had broken and I spent about a week looking for a new one. Been on almost every site on google, seen almost all listings on Amazon and eBay, and read a lot of reviews, I finally decided on this ceramic table fountain by Lamps Plus and it is a great choice~ This ceramic fountain is heavy, it is definitely not cheaply made. The quality of it is beyond my expectation. Many plastic water fountains that you find online or in stores are even more expensive than this one but with much lower quality. I have it running for about a week now, very satisfied. I don't hear any noise from the pump, just the soothing sound of water dripping. Customer service is excellent as well. I hope I won't need a new one any time soon but when I do, will definitely go back to Lamps Plus! Already recommended to a friend of mine~ Solid five stars product! ... show more

FIRST: the item is PURPLE, not mocha colored! If you're buying for the color, know that in advance. Onward: I saw the pics of the Triple Jug Tabletop Fountain being purple shaded, and was "okay" with that. I read a lot of the reviews for this item before I purchased it. The pump does what it should, does it well, and is fairly quiet (considering). After about a month straight of letting it run day & night (that help keep the water from getting icky), it finally needed cleaned (the water became "slimy" feeling-- to be expected). I used only some of the rocks that came with it, as I intended to use some other (way prettier) raw and tumbled stones that have meaning for me, as the primary stones. I enjoyed taking the time to arrange the stones "just right" to get the look and sound I wanted. As a previous person stated in a review, you will have to adjust the stones in order to get the sound that is pleasing to you. And if you want the "water element" without the sound, well, that's possible! You will hear the motor a little bit more, but as far as sound goes, it really isn't that bad (I am VERY sensitive to sounds, so this was a big deal for me). I added a beautiful chunk of raw Amazonite to cover the top, where the water comes out, arranging it in such a way that it covered the black but didn't effect the functioning of the pump. In the other to "jars," I added other pieces of "rocks" and arranged them so that I could get a sound that pleased me. Some times the rocks needed rearranged, depending on how much water was cycling & other factors (like if I wanted it quieter or more "trickling" sounds). Don't expect to just dump the rocks in, fill it with water, and you'll have a fountain sound. You will need to arrange and adjust the rocks (whether those included, or if you want to use your own), likely several times. Think of it as a "water zen" instead of one of those little "sand zen" things. :-) Would I have preferred the mocha color? Yes. However, the simpleness of design, the ease of use, and the overall effect are greater than that preference. I recommend this very nice table top fountain. I'd still be using it right now, but I've had to pack it for our move. *~* Picture is from one arrangement of rocks, but not final arrangement. Rocks are raw Rose Quartz, raw Amazonite, and raw Indigo Gabbro (all purchased through Amazon). ... show more

This is not really my style, but my cat likes running water and figured out how to turn on our faucet. We also have two dogs that he doesn't like sharing water with. So picky! So I purchased this as an alternative to tacky pet fountains. It matches my decor and it's not big. It was a little loud but I fiddled with it to tamper some of the splashing water sound. ... show more

Fountain is ceramic which produces a nice hollow jar sound that can fill the room. The motor seemed loud due to vibrations caused by pressing against the ceramic. Trim the hose a little bit, it will stay connected without the vibration noise. Next tip, fill the fountain with water using a finger to feel the level. The pump sound will get louder, use something to catch the water coming from one jar to another until the fountain has that earthen jar sound that covers any pump noise. Lastly, water evaporates listen to the sound, add water as needed, then remove it to get the desired sound back. Works great in a large area. Definitely a fantastic buy! ... show more

I videoed a close up as to where I placed a small river rock (that I had) to help increase the trickling sound.
