This board (17x21) is large, and may pose storage problems for some. Happily, it is handsome enough to simply remain out. The board had no defects in craftsmanship, per se, but the channel that is on one side (the opposing side is just flat; thus the versatility) could have been finished much more smoothly. The flat surfaces are well-sanded and very smooth, as they should be; the channel that is on one side is NOT as smooth as it should be because the manufacture chose not to do it. Which, for the price charged, is not particularly acceptable. As I intend to put this board to work in an active kitchen, it’s fine. I will no doubt put many cut marks into it. But the manufacturer can easily improve the channel smoothness by using the correct tools to do the finish sanding. They just decided not to, which is a shame. But oh well. ... show more

Bought this as a Birthday gift for my cousin who is an amazing chef and Baker. She has been dreaming of getting a Boos board for a long time. Loved surprising her with this one. She already knew exactly what to do to prep the board for use and lightly sanded, washed and dried and waited til it was perfectly dry and applied the layer of Boos Cream and Oil to it. She used it all weekend to prepare food for us when we visited. Never seen her so happy with a kitchen tool!☺️👍 Gorgeous board and with proper care will last a long, long time!!! This is a beautiful board that I hope will be used for many years. I knocked off one star for a few small defects. A couple very small dings in the board's surface, a chip in one corner, and a pretty rough surface in the groove. The overall surface could have used another fine sanding too. Running a paper towel over it leaves behind small fibers in the wood surface. Not a game changer, but slightly disappointing. But overall it’s very sturdy and feels solid. I plan to keep it oiled and conditioned as recommended by the manufacturer. Hopefully I don’t have the same problems with the board cracking and splitting like other reviewers have had with their Boos boards. We’ll see what happens in the next few months. ... show more
