I absolutely love this little light. Runs a long time and puts out a good amount of light. I really love the fact I can vary the light output up/down. The diffuser makes a beautiful soft glow for interviews or run&gun material. Everyone's complaint is about the diffuser falling off too easily. Yes, it will slip off pretty easily. In the photos, you can see my workaround for that. Using a small bit of shock cord, I poked a hole in the silicone and ran it behind the light. I just put a tab on mine in case I needed to tighten it but this could be just tied off. I used this set up to record an evening of run/gun on the zhiyun m2, never had an issue. The shock cord across the inside also helps hold in a CTO gel. ... show more

I have been an avid videographer as a hobby for years and I stumbled upon this great device. Its size is small but the light is powerful. There are several settings of brightness and it is awesome. Also helps in spots where I need light for filming against a blue screen and makes editing easier. The price is right and what you get is worth the money. So glad I got this. ... show more

The magnet is very tricky. It isn't very strong and barely holds to my lap top at the corner position. I wish it had a clip instead. It doesn't seem yo attach easily to other metal objects either. You also can't shut it off without the app. The lowest setting 1-3% will work for zoom lighting but it seems this better if you also buy their tripod. So I am using but wished these flaws weren't there. ... show more

This is an amazing light...just what I was looking for small, light with 5 settings, USB-C and wireless charging. The Pros...its amazingly bright with the diffuser softening up the light enough for vlogs, its waterproof, and built solid. With the app you can further fine tune the brightness in 1-3 degree increments. The Cons...the diffuser falls off easily and I had to buy the newly designed diffusers so they wouldn't. ;Joby should have replaced them. The Android app doesnt work with Android 10 and the IOS app is crap and should stick to controlling the light instead of being a rudementary camera app. They would be better off allowing 3rd party apps like Filmic Pro to control the lights with camera or video app at least it would showcase these lights. For the light 5 stars all the way, for original diffuser 1 star, for the new diffuser 5 stars, for the app (IOS) ... 1/2 star for the light control 0 for the rest. ... show more

Everything about this light is cool except the diffuser. Come on Joby! Any chance you will come out with an update to replace all the lost diffusers? Purchased at the Apple Store

I ordered a several hundred dollar Joby brand official V-Logging kit, this light being one of the pricier components in the kit, only to have it NEVER even work. It never once charged, took a charge, showed any indication that it was charging. And I'm an electrical engineer, this isn't rocket science to me. I have emailed the company, recieved crickets. No response from Amazon, and good luck finding ANY form of product support, help, anything. In fact, I have yet to come across a single person with this issue on the entire web, from Reddit to Github, I have searched. So disappointed. Thanks for the $80 paperweight! :I ... show more

    • My older Joby light suddenly stopped working ... but can't get help because of new Beamo market push
I have constantly needed to change batteries, the light gave up recently but there is no way to replace to lamp. For $69 I expected more durability and longer service reliability. As it was, as soon as the latest Beamo mini models came out Joby stopped supporting their existing legacy products. I can't imagine buying another (it's an investment after all) because I'm now sure that once an even newer model shows up on the market older models will be forgotten. ... show more
