  • Awesome hood.
Color: Silver
Awesome hood ! However it doesn’t work with some filters as it may rub against the hood while attempting to screw the hood. What a shame.

  • DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
Color: Black
This product is complete junk, don’t order. Doesn’t even fit on the camera. I have an x100v and the adapter ring doesn’t catch any of the threads or stay on. Avoid this product

  • JJC is my default for reasonably-priced Fuji acessories
Color: Black
Over the years, JJC has become my default for Fuji accessories. Soft release buttons, lens hoods for previous versions X100, hotshoe covors, the little hood-and-adapter combo I picked up for my X-Half. They've all been well-made, sensibly designed, and priced like the company isn't trying to gouge anyone. So when this hood offering for the X100VI, I had a pretty good idea what I was in for. Aesthetically, the square profile accentuates the camera's "retro" looks. The build is what you'd expect from JJC: aluminum alloy, nice black finish, knurled adapter ring that matches the X100VI's existing knurling nicely. The square hood threads onto the adapter ring with a setscrew to lock orientation, and the matte interior does its job at killing internal reflections. It's not Squarehood-grade machining or finish — but it's good, and on the camera you have to be looking for the difference to find it. Even then, it's probably not worth the premium to most people. I still prefer my Squarehood Mk III's smaller overall profile and the look, but that's purely an aesthetic preference, and may not be worth over double the cost of the JJC to some people. The bonus hood cap is a very useful inclusion — it slips over the square hood so you can leave the hood mounted full-time and still cap the front when the camera goes back in the bag. (Note that it does not slip over the lens itself, nor the adapter ring by itself; you HAVE to have the hood mounted to use the included cap.) Filters: It WILL accommodate a single standard or slim filter — like a UV, glimmerglass or black mist -- or even a slim CPL, but the filter is not accessible with the hood mounted. Thicker combo filters like my PMVND or Shortstache filter do not allow the hood to mount at all. At $39.99 ($37.99 with the coupon), it's a few bucks more than the similar offerings out there, but you're getting a trusted brand, 49mm filter compatibility, a matching metal cap, and none of the magnetic-conversion-lens weirdness with some of the magenetic options. For X100VI shooters who actually want to use filters — or just want a hood that doesn't look like an afterthought — this is an easy yes. ... show more
