  • A Simple Solution for Capturing Family Memories After Loss
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
As someone who recently became widowed, taking family photoshoots became a challenge. It was hard to be in the photos or avoid looking silly while trying to hide the shutter release fob. So, I decided to try the JJC Intervalometer for my Canon EOS Rebel T6. It was quick to learn and set up, and it allowed me to capture moments with my family that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. I could set it to take photos every few seconds, which gave us the freedom to enjoy the moment without worrying about pushing buttons or hiding a fob. I even used it for Christmas morning. I set it up in the corner of the room and was able to get photos of the holiday with myself in them—something I hadn’t been able to do before. While I’m not a professional photographer, I can definitely say that this device did exactly what I needed: it continuously took images at set intervals, giving us natural, candid photos without any extra hassle. It’s a perfect tool for anyone who needs a reliable way to capture memories with ease. ... show more

  • Good and Useful
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
This has really helped me automate my astrophotography, and give me more control over how I do long exposures. I like how you can hold the button for a custom shutter speed, which helps when doing light painting, or composing dark scenes quickly. The build feels as it should for the price, and it isn't too light nor heavy to the point it feels cheap or tiring to hold. The LEDs are helpful when it's dark, and the plastic peel was more satisfying than expected. Only thing I would improve is a memory fuction, and presets. This would help setting up quicker as you wouldn't have to manually change the settings everytime you turn it back on. Presets would allow for quick switching to the desired settings. ... show more

  • Great Intervalometer! Check your camera settings!
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
Just starting out in astrophotography with an EOS 850D and this thing is fantastic!! Simple to use, plug and play. Time will tell how long it lasts, but no complaints so far. To avoid some initial frustration... my camera has a setting in the "Shooting Settings" screen to enable/disable the processing of noise reduction in long exposure shots. This setting is on by default. So instead of taking a second or less to write the picture to the SD card, it was taking 10-15 seconds. Why is this important? Because I set my interval to allow for a 5 second gap between shots thinking that would be plenty of time. So when the 5 seconds had elapsed, my camera was still processing the previous image and this really screwed up my exposure times for subsequent shots and threw the whole setup completely out of whack. So if you're noticing something not jiving between the exposure time on your camera screen and the timer on your intervalometer, that setting could be the cause. Either leave it on and increase your interval to allow for a 15-20 second break, or turn it off and set to a 5 second break. I turned it off because we're already going to be stacking and processing all these shots to reduce noise anyway, right? ... show more

  • Exactly as expected
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
Used with a Canon EOS-R: It's easy to use and reliable. I shot the entire 2024 solar eclipse at 15s intervals from first to last contact. I regularly use it for astrophotography and for shooting lightning storms. It's very simplistic and it's kind of like typing in your password with a TV remote, but that's what $20 gets you. My biggest problem is the cord. The remote dangles from my telescope or tripod and I don't have a good place to secure it, but again: you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Superb device!
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
I bought this before my trip to Alaska to take pics of the Aurora Borealis north of Fairbanks. I had never used an intervalometer before, so I was a bit worried about how I would do with this. Wow! So easy and so reliable! I tested it out at home before I took off, shooting some tests of the night sky to get a feel for how long I should expose a pic to get what I wanted. Then I quickly programmed it as to how long before starting, how long between shots, how long on the exposure, and how many pics to take for a set. Then I just had to move the tripod around, looking for the best part of the sky to capture the incredible view. I got over 100 shots one night in about 40-45 minutes and could not have been happier with the results. And by using this, I could actually watch the sky as well as taking pics at the same time. I could not have been more pleased with the performance! ... show more

  • Works with Pentax K1
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
This is a pretty standard shutter release cable design. Which means it’s reliable. It has an off switch, which I appreciate and also has a pretty bright backlight. I expected it to be more like one of those orange systems. I was pleasantly surprised as it seems to be a bright white.

  • Decent, but Not Great
Size: For Canon RS-60E3
It works fairly well as a basic intervalometer once you figure out how to use it. Wish it remembered your settings from one session to the next, but it's not a huge deal. On the other hand it absolutely would not work as a simple remote shutter without batteries on a T7, despite what the FAQ says. Not sure if something has changed with the product or I got a defective model, but it wouldn't work. ... show more
