I read that the adhesive wasn’t very effective but I didn’t find that- make sure you prepare the surface properly and it sticks. Easy to put up; I thought it would drive me crazy to roll it up every morning but it’s not a big deal. It works very well to block out the light that made it through the Venetian blinds. Just be aware it’s only a blind, and blackout curtains will always provide fuller coverage. But for a small job, I recommend it! ... show more

I was really curious to try this blackout shade since I didn’t want to drill holes or install an entire set of blinds, and this was incredibly easy to put up! I made sure to clean and dry the area first, pressed the adhesive strip down firmly, and it only took a few minutes from start to finish. The fabric does a really good job of blocking light, especially considering how lightweight and simple the shade is. The light beige color also looks much nicer than putting a dark temporary cover over the window, and it blends in well without drawing too much attention. It gives plenty of privacy too. I like that I can roll it up when I want light instead of having to remove the entire thing. It isn’t as polished or substantial as a traditional installed roller blind, but that isn’t really what I expected at this price. The main thing I’d be careful about is measuring correctly and making sure the adhesive has a clean surface to grip onto. Overall, this is a really useful option for renters, bedrooms, or any window where you want more darkness without making permanent changes. This is a very easy to assemble black out shade. It does not require drilling or screws. You simply install it with the adhesive strip on the back. It is simple to do and works very well at blocking out the light. It is a roller type shade. I’m very happy with the quality and the ease of installment and will be getting another one very soon. They fit right under curtains and are not bulky or odd looking. They do block out the light and roll up easily.
