Dont listen to the negative reviews and complaints about thickness. These people clearly dont know what real Turkish/Oriental rugs look and feel like. Ill explain... Real Turkish/oriental rugs are gorgeous but not in my price range and even if they were I would be so scared of it getting stained, dirty and/or damaged that I wouldnt let anyone actualy near it - which doesnt work out well for a living room. So.... I buy a "cheap" faux one and replace it when normal cleaning of wear and tear can keep it presentable. I find that 1 year is about the typical milage i get from faux rugs (of course YMMV). So I've purchased many of these faux rugs over the years and want to say this rug is the best one I've ever had. I'm writing this review after almost a year of already owning this rug and it's held up extremely well. No fraying, no shedding, no holes, no stretching, no curled up edges, no fading, and easy to keep clean with almost daily vacuuming (using "hardwood floor" setting to be gentle) and spot clean with Folex spray (best stain spray ever, get some, you wont be sorry, plus its cheap too). In fact, any other rug i would have easily have had a full shapooing by now and would contemplating a second shampooing versus if its time to replace. But after a year Im just now at the point of needing a 1st shampooing and not anywhere near looking to replace yet. So 5 stars on durability and stain resistance. Now here is the best reason I love this rug so much - it looks real. A real Turkish/Oriental rug is more like a woven tapestry versus standard thick carpeting that a firm backing and a "pile" which is fine for wall-to-wall installation, however most cheap faux area rugs are simply cut from this same stiff and thick carpeting then a design is simply stamped on. This results in a cheap looking rug, especially if the resolution of the printing was low. This has always been my litmus test when choosing a rug - how fake/low res does the design print look. However even the nicest high-res print doesnt help hide that "just a peice of regular stiff carpetting with pile cut into a rug shape" look. But not this one because its chenille instead. The chenille used on this rug makes it look real and classy. It looks more like a tapestry like the real Turkish rugs do. I was worried about durability because of the chenille but in fact Im finding it MORE durable than a stiff carpet+pile type rug since there is no pile to wrear down/flatten. The only issue is that my other carpet/pile style rugs look like cheap crap now compared to this one. Lol. I will definitely only buy this type of rug when those need replacing. One thing to note - since it is more tapestry like, dont skimp on a good and thick rug pad or it wont look right. Just like with a real rug, it gets its thickness from the pad. I went with a 1/2 inch felt pad and probably could have done 3/4 or even 1 inch tbh. I know the thick felt rug pads are pricey but its mandatory just like with a real rug. Sorry for the essay but I hope it helps clear up some of the misleading uneducated reviews on here

**update** I have washed these rugs several Times now. They turn out like new every time. I have spilled makeup, toothpaste, and dropped lotions on the bathroom rugs- every stain comes out! (I do try to spritz oxi-clean spray on as soon as I notice a stain.) My kitchen rugs are light in color, and so far every stain (even spaghetti sauce) has come right out! Again- I try to spot clean as soon as I notice a stain. Washing them they haven’t frayed and they look brand new! Months later still love and would purchase again! I purchased 2 of these in different sizes. The softness of this ivory/brown one is amazing under your feet! I put the long one (2x5) in front of our sinks in the bathroom, and the shorter one (2x3) in front of the shower for stepping out on. Are they thick and cushiony? No. Are they super soft and feel nice on the feet? Yes! Easy to spot clean, but I have not washed in the washer yet. I’ll try to remember to update once I do that, especially if that’s a fail, because washability is important to me for a rug. They do grip the floor pretty well on their own, but if you like more cushion, definitely get a pad. I will say I bought this exact rug in a different color scheme for my kitchen and that color is not near as soft as this ivory/brown color. This one literally feels like velvet on your feet. So I’m going to say that different colors will have a different feeling based on the weave.

This rug is even prettier in person and it’s very soft! I unfolded and let the few creases calm down before I put under my dining room table and it looks great! It’s suppose to be washable so it is a thin rug, if you’re looking for cushion I recommend a pad underneath. I haven’t had to wash or spot clean yet but I’m hoping it’s stain resistant and holds up!

This looks great in the space. It is thin and doesn’t slip much. It is frayed on one edge which is a bummer. It does not vacuum well. It gets sucked up in the vacuum even on the low settings.
