It took me about 45 minutes to install. Probably 20 minutes of that was to take out the old one that someone screwed in! I used silicone spray to soak the two channels and slowly worked it in, leaving the loose part on a stool at the same height as the door, and using a zip tie on the loose side to hold it together so I could push/pull it through the track. Would have taken 5 minutes if I had someone to pull on the end as I fed it into the track, but I couldn’t explain to the dog how to help me. LOL ... show more

Heavy made, hopefully harder for mice to chew through. Before ordering make sure to measure the blade width of your current door. To install I sprayed the channel with dry silicone spray, made install easy.

I have a 7x9 garage door in the back of a building that has a 12ft ceiling. High bay tracks. The door goes pretty much straight up the wall and the door bends in the middle when it's fully up. The cables stay tight the whole time and only one side of the seal track ever clears the door track. Had to slide one side in and proceed to tuck 9' of door seal in the other side of the track with a 1/4" screwdriver and lots of soapy water. I bought this to replace a weathered garage door seal for the bottom of a clopay 16ft door. The installation was difficult as it didn’t want to slide within the aluminum frames at the bottom of the door, even with ample DW-40. Once installed (after 3 hours of work), the garage door didn’t want to close all the way and kept retracting. The round insert at the center of the stripping did not allow the door to sit flush and there were still openings below when I tried to seat the door against the concrete. The material was brittle and hard to work with. I ended up having to cut it out to remove it all. I would avoid purchasing if you have an older auto garage door. ... show more

Replace my old strips with the new ones. Used spray a way glass cleaner instead of WD-40 for the lubrication and it slid right on with less of a mess than using WD-40.

    • Seal was tightly rolled up for delivery, this complicates installation

This seal was rolled up tightly for shipping. It even had plastic wrap around it to hold it in this shape. This created all sorts of creases and the center tube section was totally collapsed. I stretched it out and allowed it to warm up to 65 degrees for 2 full days. No real change. Trying to install by myself proved impossible. I have successfully installed similar seals on two other garage doors and had no problem. I will admit that there was a small cracked piece of the "T" track molding, about 2 inches from the one end, that made feeding the seal even more challenging. So I will accept some of the blame for the failure. Another difference is that the other "T" track was aluminum and the current door had plastic tracks. I have since ordered a seal that has the aluminum track molding. I was going to give this a one star rating but after reading all of my issues with this door, I changed it to 2 stars. ... show more
