  • FUN! Pull out those cassettes.
Color: Black
Wish it had the clip on the back to put on waistband. The only con I’ve found. Love that it functions as a radio & speaker as well.

  • The best player for it's price. Not a great recorder though
Color: Teal
For the price, this is a very nice player. The built-in speaker is passable and the main reason I want to keep it for myself rather than give it to my friend as my better player just doesn't have one. If you're looking to record anything with it though, I'd stay away. You're going to need to go higher end if you want anything that doesn't sound garbled and staticy. Unfortunately, that was one of the main uses I wanted it for, hence the missing star. I don't use the radio much but it was nice being able to hear the weather when my power went out in a bad storm I guess ... show more

  • Junk. Plastic molded into the shape of junk.
Color: Teal
I don't just throw around strong words like "junk" haphazardly. But seriously, this is junk. it is plastic molded into the shape of useless junk. I am baffled by the 4 star average on the reviews! I promise you that if after reading this review you still go ahead and buy this, you will definitely remember what I've written here. What's the phrase? Mark My Words. Yeah that's the phrase. Ok - So what's wrong with it? Well, there were 3 things I wanted out of this device. I wanted it to play cassette tapes in stereo (not mono like it's 1967). I wanted to be able to quickly record music ideas onto a cassette. And I wanted to be able to play FM radio. How did it do on those? Fail. All 3. Big time. First of all it's not stereo. If you want to listen to all your tapes in mono, if you want to pretend that you bought this in the 1960's, then buy this. I want to listen to my stereo cassettes in stereo, thank you very much. I mean, it's 2021! Also, the built in microphone is a joke. I was speaking into it from about 12 inches and it couldn't pick it up. There is a mic input, but why would you need to use that when it is advertised as having a built in mic? FM radio? I was expecting a built-in mic. They built SOMETHING into it, but it's not a real microphone. Nope. And lastly, the only way to receive any FM stations is if I hold onto the antenna. As soon as I let go of the antenna the station disappears. And when I say "The Station" I mean THE one and only station that it would pick up. And that station plays music I don't like -- even if I DID want to spend my time holding onto the antenna like an idiot. It's junk. I wouldn't want it even if it were free. And if you look closely, this exact type of cassette player is sold under many other names on Amazon. Right now, I don't see any small Walkman -type player out there that is quality. And so what I've done is I searched Sony Walkman on Amazon and I bought a used SONY Walkman, and chances are it will work just fine. Or it will eat my tapes. I guess I'll have to just wait and see. I wonder why no one wants to manufacture a GOOD portable cassette player/recorder because by reading all these RECENT reviews it still appears to be a very popular item. I have a dozen or more cassette "Mix" tapes that I made back around 1990 and I want to play them in the car because they are the perfect mix of songs and there is nothing wrong with the cassettes. All I need is a small player and a audio cable to go from the speaker jack on the cassettes player to the AUX on my car stereo. Car STEREO. Yep my car stereo plays STEREO! HEll, I think my father's 1970 Datsun had stereo. Anyway, whatever you do, don't buy this. It's junk. ... show more

Works well. Do wish it had a way to adjust tracking for old recordings, but I like it.

  • Brought me back to being a teenager
Color: Red
I am so pleased with this cassette player/radio. I wondered if the sound would be good or if it would just be a waste of my money. I was pleasantly surprised! I haven't found anything about this product to complain about. I love the red and black coloration. I love being able to play my old cassettes. And I love the fact that I can even record if I want to. Technology has its place of course, but sometimes a person just wants to simplify. This is small enough to fit inside my purse so it's easy to carry with me wherever I want to go. I give it five stars! ... show more

  • Limited edition cassette recorder
Color: Teal
What I liked are all the things this small cassette recorder AM/FM radio can do. It is walk man sized, easy to load cassette, uses two AA batteries or AC by connecting an AC to DC power adapter(not included). Adapter must be a universal type that can select 4.5 volts DC and polarity of plug in tip, which is +. If In doubt use AA batteries. I already had a power adapter. Radio tunes FM pretty well, but you must tune slowly. I like the end of tape auto stop , the half way decent speaker, earphone jack and Mic jack.(External Mic not included). IT has built in MIC and this works best for recording. What I don't like, is the tape drive noise this recorder makes when using it, especially using external Microphone, but you get noise using built in Mic too. Doing Mic recordings be sure to test your external Mic before recording full tape to make sure external Mic is working. Mic jack is touchy, and might require not plugging in all the way. Note ear jack is for play back only, and does not let you monitor recording. FM radio is not stereo even with headphones. Sound output from speaker is not too loud through speaker even at full volume and a bit tinny in sound , hardly any Bass. ... show more
