It’s a nice, economical Apple CarPlay media deck. But the blue button back lighting was intermittent on my example at night. Software was updated to current, so that wasn’t the culprit. Screen is nice, but also super glossy, so was hard to see in bright light. Similar sister company Dual deck doesn’t seem to have a problem with the back-lit buttons at night, so I’m keeping that one instead.

Great radio good performance when using Apple car play, is a bit sluggish but don’t be discouraged it’s only at the main screen, Apple CarPlay feels nice and responsive displays everything nice and sound is good, also works well with my back up cam! Be warned that you may need an adapter for older cars like 2010 prior or some wire splicing, so I recommend having a professional install it for you, but if you already had a after market radio like I did, the wires in my car were already sliced and so it was just plug and play !!

Bought this to put in a truck i purchased that replaced my stolen truck. I was familiar with the Jensen brand and expected more than i got… car play works ok, a little slow to respond some times. The controls are all intuitive, and installation was straight forward. After installation and setting up my first disappointment was the display using backup camera, i tried a couple different cameras, but both resulted in dark almost unusable images on the screen, even will full screen brightness. The other problem is more of an inconvenience, i don’t have steering wheel controls on my truck for the radio. Each time after shutting off the vehicle, and restarting, the volume for the radio resets to level 11, requiring that i reach for the radio, and increase the volume. Further, each function has its own volume, CarPlay, radio, and phone calls. Each has to be increased after restarting the vehicle. Very difficult in the dark, as the controls on the radio are not backlit. At first, i thought that maybe i might have the always on 12volt line wired incorrectly, and that was the cause of the volume resetting, checked it and its fine, station presets and time are all saved during power down. Planning on using this for a while, but will eventually replace it with a ‘Kenwood’ similar to what i had in my previous truck. The poor display of backup camera image, and the volume control issues are just to annoying to tolerate for long..

At first the buttons didnt light up . But after having it installed for a couple months and playing around with the display settings they popped on surprisingly. If the radio isnt sounding good through the speakers adjust the time alignment in audio settings .

Bought this for CarPlay but it crashes after using CarPlay for less than an hour. Might be 2 mins, might be 35, but it will crash and require unplugging the phone and plugging it back in. Audio will start to crackle a bit then it crashes. Works fine other than CarPlay. I hope I have a bad unit. I am contacting Jensen today (7/21/21) and will update this review if they replace the unit. Update 8/9/21 - Seller replaced the unit and the new one is working well.
