I like the design of this floor lamp and the dimmable light. The combination of the metal, woodgrain and linen shade are very classy. Most of it, including the shade, were easy to assemble... EXCEPT the first pieces to screw together at the top of the lamp. There was too much cord and not enough space inside to push it in. I had to really wrestle with it. Plus, there is a black plastic piece at the threads that looks like it's supposed to be part of the lamp, but it had to be removed in order for the threads to catch. The directions were not helpful at all. So basic they might as well have not wasted the paper. It's a little bit "tilty" but can be turned to disguise it. Very pretty and I love that it has a dimmer. Also the dimmer switch is at perfect height to adjust while sitting. Only con is that the shade will not stay even. It wants to tilt.

It only took about two minutes to put together, simply screw the poles together then onto the base, attach the shade to the frames and screw in the (included!) lightbulb. You can dim the light to your heart’s desire. The dimmer is more of a sliding scale (rotary switch), rather than clicking up and down pre-set levels (I hope that makes sense). The bright is bright enough for a large bedroom and the shade doesn’t block too much light. Two things I don’t care for, however, are the prominent seam where the shade comes together and the fact that you can see the clips on the shade where you attach it to the frames (as you can see in my pics). That aspect is the only thing that makes the lamp look a tad bit cheap. In addition, I don’t think this lamp gives off sufficient lighting for an entire living room (especially if you like bright lighting throughout a room). This lamp has a sturdy base, not wobbly as if it can easily be knocked over and I imagine, if taken care of, it will last for a long time. Another nice thing about this item is that if it has any defects or stops working within three years, the seller seems willing to replace or fix the issue. If you’re looking for a dimmable floor lamp for about $50 that looks good in almost any décor, I would recommend this one. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for
First, you get what you pay for with this lamp. For one thing, it is not that tall of a lamp; I am taller than it and I am only 5' 8". The aluminum metal poles feel very cheap and could easily strip the threading if screwed in at the slightest wrong angle. The dimming knob was not attached very well; when turning the knob to shut the light off, the knob would keep rotating without shutting off, so I had to super glue it to the dimmer stick so it would have a firm grasp on the knob. The output power of the lamp is weak, because I put a 100W bulb in it and it is not as bright in the room as it was with the previous lamp. If you are a college student on a budget and want something to light the room, then I would recommend this lamp because it looks stylish (and not IKEAish) and works. However, if you are an educated individual that wants a nice-quality lamp for a home, I would suggest you keep looking. ... show more

This lamp is sturdy and easy to put together. The shade arrived in perfect condition and the pole and base align nicely without any wobble, a huge pet peeve of mine. It looks great in the corner of a bedroom or living room and casts the perfect amount of light without blinding the user like some others do.
