Why did you pick this product vs others?: TLDR: Highly recommend. This sound bar delivers excellent sound quality and the power for high volume. The subwoofer has plenty of punch. The detachable speakers were the deciding factor for my purchase. They disconnect via a strong magnet and can be positioned, with ZERO wires, anywhere in your room and will last a full night before needing to be put back on the main unit. This really adds to the listening experience. I bought Amazon renewed for almost half of the new price and mine arrived in undamaged manufacturer packaging and appeared to be brand new. A couple more things, this comes with mounting hardware for both the main unit and the detachable surrounds. I thought it would be nice to mount my soundbar above my TV, but depending on the height, you may find it difficult to remove the surrounds due to the strength of the magnets. Lastly, the JBL One App is not required but I find it useful to have it on my phone and I just put the remote in a drawer. You really don't need the remote with eArc and the App takes care of the occasional thing I may want to adjust like the EQ. Is this better than a 5.1 Audiophile HT system? No. Can you buy (and install) a proper 5.1 Audiophile HT system for $1,000? Also no. ... show more

While I wish I could have waited just a few more months to get the next gen, but from what I saw there weren't enough changes to warrant waiting. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I would like to see more features on the remote and/app remote. But it doesn't detract from it sounding great. The step up to the 12" sub was just what the doctor ordered. ... show more

I am very happy with this soundbar. I just wish I had somewhere near me that I could have compared this soundbar with other soundbars. I dont know if this is the best one out there since I have not heard anyother sound bars in this price range but overall I am pleased with my purchase. Also I am happy that the rear spearkers are wireless and can be placed behind when ever you want to place them behind you. and they let you know when they need charging. ... show more

Well I purchased jbl1300 refurbished. It looked as such as well. But I sent it back due to max volume being not as I expected. I currently own the JBL 3.1 at 450watts with 8inch sub. The 1300 is more than twice the rated power and larger sub to. However my 3.1 is much louder with better bass as well. The 1300 does better sound but it acts like it is governed somehow on volume. Not what I expected from a high power JBL product. I could no where near justify the massive price difference between the two so I sent it back. ... show more
