Description

SRX812 is a two-way full range passive portable speaker with a 12” woofer made for use as a light-duty main PA, monitor, or rear or side fill. Featuring M10 suspension points and feet for both floor standing and monitor use, the SRX812 is an ideal solution for musicians, bands, and DJs, concert use, public speaking, or installations such as performance venues, corporate spaces, educational facilities or houses of worship. Tunings and presets are available for Crown ITech HD and XTI 2 amps as well as dbx VENU360 signal processors. I bought these through Sweetwater Sound (not Amazon). But, feel the need to share what I think of these JBL SRX812 (passive) speakers. THE GOOD - the JBL sound! So lifelike, clear, clean, and flat. These pair well with subwoofers and an electronic crossover. The sound is "like being there" live. They are built like tanks...over-engineered for abuse. They aren't crazy heavy...an average dude can lift them onto stands. But, best to have a buddy help. Power handling is 800w nominal, 1,600w program, 3,200w peak. Best to use an amplifier with about 1,200-1,600w...but, honestly most never use that much power anyways. I am running 1,600w x 2 into them and can't even get up to 50% full power w/o my ears bleeding (inside the house). At that volume, there is ZERO frantic paranoia speaker screaming "I am hurting". They remain composed at high volumes...impressive. I have been working with speakers for 40+ years...so, yeh, when I say they're good, they're good. These are audiophile "PA monitor" speakers dressed for combat. THE BAD - price. For those not using a subwoofer cabinet, bass might not be adequate. ... show more
