Features

  • Bold JBL Pro Sound with AI Sound Boost: We've beefed up our bass and tweaked our tweeter. The outcome? Powerful, clearer bass even at max volume and crisp higher frequencies thanks to a clever new tweeter dome design, adding more depth to your speaker's sound. We also added our new proprietary tech, AI Sound Boost, which anylzes your music in realtime to deliver maximum acoustic performance with less distortion. It's like our own little audio genie in every Flip 7. So, now we can give you better all-around sound without the added pounds. Same size, bigger punch.
  • Up to 16 hours of playtime: Keep the mood alive for 14 hours on a single charge - and when we really need to squeeze some extra juice out of our jubilee, or another dance with our darling, we can get an extra 2 hours with Playtime Boost.
  • Multi-speaker connection by Auracast: Wouldn't it be great to share the vibes with our tribe? Now we can. With Auracast, we can effortlessly stereo pair two Flip 7 speakers for a wider sound stage and connect multiple Auracast-enabled JBL speakers to cover more ground with the same playlist.
  • Waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof: Have you ever dropped your speaker, had it roll down a dusty hill and land in a lake? No? Well, believe it or not, it happens. So, we built the JBL Flip 7 to be as life-proof as they come. On top of our legendary waterproof and dust-proof design (an industry-leading IP68, BTW), we've also made sure that if you drop it from 1-meter onto your concrete floor, it'll keep kicking. But please, don't go throwing your speaker around just to flex on your friends. Throw parties instead.
  • PushLock system with interchangeable accessories: Clip it. Loop it. Palm it. Now we can carry our sound our way with the new Pushlock interchangeable accessory system. All that power at the push of a button - loop and carabiner included in the box.
  • Lossless Audio Playback: When music goes lossless it gets that much better. For the real audio aficionados, we've made lossless audio possible by plugging into your laptop or other audio device via our USB-C port. But, of course, in order for it to work, you need a compatible lossless audio source*(*Requires compatible lossless audio content from supported apps/services)
  • JBL Portable app: It's an app. We've all used them, and they can come in real handy. The JBL Portables app gives you access to support, updates, and customizable audio controls - so you can get just the right sound to suit your mood at any moment.
  • Recycled plastic and fabric, plus FSC certified paper packaging: The JBL Flip 7 incorporates 77% post-consumer recycled plastic and 100% recycled fabric for the speaker grille. It's also packaged in FSC-certified paper printed with soy ink.
  • Why is there no USB-C charging cable included with my product? To minimize e-waste, we consciously choose not to include a charging cable in our packaging. However, you can use any standard USB-C cable to charge your JBL product.

The Flip 7 leaves our friends and family wondering where all that big, glorious sound could possibly be coming from. But it's not just pretty and powerful. Plus, with new Playtime Boost we can enjoy up to 16 hours of playtime—because the moment should only ever stop on our terms. Wouldn't it be great to share the sweet sound of JBL far and wide? • Finally Found the Perfect Bike Speakers! Finally Found the Perfect Bike Speakers!
Color: Teal
After trying several other speakers, we finally found the ones we love. The JBL Flip 7 is just about perfect for our bicycle life. The size is great for bike water bottle mounts, the buttons are easy to find and perfectly placed for volume and play/pause, and the charge port is easy to access. I also appreciate that the charge light seems accurate, which is not always the case with portable speakers. The build quality feels excellent, and the sound is really impressive for such a small package. It has that rich, deep JBL bass without sounding muddy or overdone. These get super loud while still sounding clean, especially in party mode. The connectivity has been nearly flawless, which was a huge deal for us after trying other speakers that constantly cut out or glitched. With these, we can just ride and enjoy the music without fighting the Bluetooth connection the whole time. The Auracast feature is super slick. We have one speaker on each bike, and we can both control the music, skip songs, adjust volume, or pause. In Auracast mode, you can even get stereo sound, and hearing that stereo separation while riding down the trail is a surprisingly fun little bonus. We also really like the PushLock with the carabiner. It makes the speaker easy to secure on the bike, and we don’t feel like it is going to bounce loose or fall off at any moment. The fact that they are waterproof on a bike is priceless, because sooner or later, weather happens. We’ve already taken them on a couple of 12-hour bike days, and the batteries outlasted the rides. So far, they have been with us for about 400 miles of biking, and they will be keeping us company on RAGBRAI this year. Great sound, great size, great battery life, solid connectivity, and better value than we expected. Highly recommend these. We’re looking forward to many years and many more miles of music with them. ... show more

  • Great sound, and quality. JBL never failed me.
Color: Black/Orange
Great speaker for its size, sound is great. I love the new removable clip or loop. Paired together with another JBL auracast speaker is easy and sounds amazing. Battery life is great as long as you are not playing at max volume. Like I heard from someone "if you find yourself playing at max volume consistently, you need a larger speaker". ... show more

  • Amazing sound, beautiful color, no regrets Amazing sound, beautiful color, no regrets
Color: Purple
I absolutely love this speaker. The purple color is even prettier in person and feels really unique compared to the usual basic options. The sound quality is amazing for the size. It gets loud, the bass is solid, and everything sounds really clear whether I’m listening to music at home or using it in the shower. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I also really like the design and the included attachments. The strap and carabiner make it super easy to carry around or clip onto a bag, which is actually more useful than I expected. One thing to note: it does NOT come with a charger or charging cable. That didn’t bother me since I already have USB-C chargers at home, but it’s something to be aware of if you don’t already have one. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It feels high quality, looks great, and sounds even better. Definitely worth the price. ... show more

  • Rock it out!
Color: Blue
The JBL Flip 7 is hands down one of the best portable speakers I’ve ever owned—and I liked it so much, I actually came back and bought a second one. The sound quality is incredible for the size. It’s loud, clear, and has a surprisingly strong bass that really fills the space whether you’re indoors or outside. No distortion even at higher volumes, which is a huge plus. Build quality is top-tier. It feels rugged and durable, and the waterproof and drop-proof design gives you confidence to take it anywhere—poolside, camping, or just around the house without worrying about it getting damaged. Battery life has been excellent, easily lasting through long listening sessions without constantly needing a recharge. What really says it all is that I went back and bought another one. That alone should tell you how impressed I was. Whether you’re pairing them together or just want one for different areas, it’s absolutely worth it. Overall, this speaker delivers on every level—sound, durability, and reliability. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a powerful, portable speaker that just works. ... show more

  • Great Speaker
Color: Black
I’m really happy with this JBL speaker. The sound is clear, the volume gets plenty loud, and the battery lasts a long time. I’ve used it both at home and outdoors without any issues. I also like that it’s waterproof, so I don’t have to worry about taking it to the pool or the beach.

  • Great sound inside and out
Color: Black
I liked the first pair of Flip 7s so much, I bought 2 more to daisy chain for outdoor parties and poolside. The stereo feature using the app is excellent. Durable, waterproof, and portable eliminates running speakers to everywhere I want to hear music. Great battery life and connectivity. A lot of sound from a little speaker ... show more

  • In real time In real time
Color: Black/Orange
This is my first Bluetooth speaker and after a week or so I can say I’m a big fan. Easily connects to either my phone or my laptop. The different preset sound levels are quick and easy to use, and I do like the option of having a seven band equalizer. At 35 watts the sound is plenty loud enough whether out on my friends boat or in the yard. I’m also very impressed by how the AI reduces/removes distortion when played at high levels. It is the size of disposable water bottle, and you can easily change out between a carrying strap and a carabiner. Like I said at the beginning, this is my first Bluetooth speaker and I am very happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Good sound, with a few disappointments.
Color: Black
So for context, I bought this to replace an aging Bose Soundlink Micro that had been in daily use for probably 6 or 7 years at this point. Still working, but battery life was noticeably degraded, the strap broke years ago, and it had developed an annoying hiss/static noise at lower volumes. I'm sure I got thousands of hours of listening out of it, so hard to be disappointed there. Build quality is quite good. Feels solid and can stand up to being tossed around as portable speakers tend to. The "burrito" form factor makes it easy to stick in a water bottle slot or cup holder and easily fits in a bag. The interchangeable (replaceable) loop/carabiner is a nice touch, given the elastic strap on the Bose was molded in/non replaceable and broke after a year or two. Lots of colors to choose from, though I got the ordinary black (I suspect the white/tans would start to look grubby fairly soon if you use them outdoors). Sound quality is quite good, surprisingly rich and bassy at lower to mid volumes. You can tell at about 70% volume it starts pulling bass to avoid distortion, but if you routinely are needing to use it at full volume, probably a good idea to move up to a larger speaker, like the Charge or Xtreme. The Flip is good for personal to small group listening, although indoors, it can fill a moderate size room assuming you just want some "background music" and not DJing a party. JBL has some secret sauce when it comes to having the sound be surprisingly non-directional. The actual drivers are behind the logo on the front, yet unlike a lot of other speakers, you don't need to have it pointed directly at you to sound good. The bluetooth works exactly as expected, with typical BT range- about 30-40ft. Nothing to note there. It does support the newer Auracast protocol, which in theory should make it compatible to pair up with other brand speakers that are Auracast enabled as it's a BT standard, not a proprietary pairing mode, although suspect that probably won't be the case, too early to know since JBL seems to be the only company integrating it to their speakers, everyone else is still using proprietary modes exclusive to that brand's products. The buttons work also as expected and are quite intuitive. The play/pause button also has the now mostly standard double-tap to skip forward, or triple tap to skip back so you can control it without your phone. The volume control also syncs to your phone, which also thankfully is becoming standard. Couple little issues though that to me keep it from being perfect. -As virtually every review of a JBL speaker mentions, the battery life claim is not realistic, and evidently assumes playing it at a quite low volume (like it's on a desk or bedside table at 10-20% volume for personal listening in a quiet room). 6 hours of 20% playing used 40% of the battery, so that lines up with the 14 hour claim. But used outdoors, it's going to be at least at 40-50% and the battery life rapidly diminishes if you crank it up. At full blast, just 1 hour wiped out half the battery. For high volume/outdoors use, you probably want to go up to the Charge. -Unlike the 7 year old Bose (and most other modern BT devices), this does not broadcast it's battery level over the standard BT protocol, so you can't quickly check battery off your phone's BT banner or tab- you have to open the JBL app. It does have a little battery "gauge" on the back that turns on if you press any button that gives you a vague "full, med, low" sort of bar. Little nitpick, but why they omitted that is odd. -It also charges relatively slow Despite being USB-C, it doesn't seem to support any rapid charging protocol. The manual says 5v/3a, but my measurement peaked at 10 watts, so it only seems to draw about 2 amps. It also claims to recharge in 2.5 hours, for me that was closer to 4. (that was using a PD-enabled 65w charger, so not a charger limitation). For a 2025 release product, that's not great. -The power/BT buttons are backlit. The play/pause and fwd/rev buttons (that you interact with more often) are not. Odd design choice. More odd....the tiny LEDs of the battery indicator turn off after a few seconds, presumably to save battery. The button backlights are on all the time, and are really quite bright. In a dark room, they can serve as a dim flashlight to find your way around, so are also annoyingly bright for bedside listening. You can "flip" the speaker upside down so it's "sitting" on the power button to hide the light, but think it'd be easy enough to have an option in the app to turn that off. Nope. That possibly could be added in a future firmware, but at present, they're always on. -No speakerphone. Not a deal breaker, but for the premium price they're asking, would think that'd be included. Being I use it on my desk while working, the Bose was occasionally convenient to just take a call if one came in (and sounded excellent on both ends). The app works well enough but is largely inessential. Install it once to update the firmware, play around with the EQ if you want, but after that you can realistically delete it unless you plan to use the multi-point pairing on a regular basis (which can be done via the speaker also). TL;DR +Sound quality +Build quality/ruggedness +Portability +Sound has a good 360* effect. - Mediocre battery life - Slow charging - MSRP is getting steep, I'd wait for a sale or consider a prior generation. ... show more
