Description

The soundtrack to our life, right in the palm of our hands. The JBL Flip 7 is a portable Bluetooth speaker built for wherever the day takes you—beach, backyard, or somewhere with no name on a map. Same compact size we know and love, but now with AI Sound Boost, which analyzes music in real-time to deliver maximum acoustic performance with less distortion. Bigger punch, no added weight. Built to take a beating without missing a beat, the Flip 7 carries an industry-leading IP68 rating—waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof from up to 1 meter. And with up to 16 hours of playtime on a single charge, the only one deciding when the music stops is you. Need a little extra juice? Playtime Boost squeezes out an additional 2 hours when the moment calls for it. Sharing sound is half the fun. Connect with other Auracast-enabled JBL speakers to spread the same playlist across more space—or stereo pair two Flip 7s for a wider soundstage. Plug into a laptop via USB-C and unlock lossless audio playback for those who want every detail the music has to offer (requires compatible lossless audio content from supported apps and services). The PushLock interchangeable accessory system—loop and carabiner included—means carrying it is as easy as the listening. In short, this is not the average portable speaker. It's a pint-sized audio boss. Based on lab test conditions for submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

  • Finally Found the Perfect Bike Speakers!
Color: Teal
After trying several other speakers, we finally found the ones we love. The JBL Flip 7 is just about perfect for our bicycle life. The size is great for bike water bottle mounts, the buttons are easy to find and perfectly placed for volume and play/pause, and the charge port is easy to access. I also appreciate that the charge light seems accurate, which is not always the case with portable speakers. The build quality feels excellent, and the sound is really impressive for such a small package. It has that rich, deep JBL bass without sounding muddy or overdone. These get super loud while still sounding clean, especially in party mode. The connectivity has been nearly flawless, which was a huge deal for us after trying other speakers that constantly cut out or glitched. With these, we can just ride and enjoy the music without fighting the Bluetooth connection the whole time. The Auracast feature is super slick. We have one speaker on each bike, and we can both control the music, skip songs, adjust volume, or pause. In Auracast mode, you can even get stereo sound, and hearing that stereo separation while riding down the trail is a surprisingly fun little bonus. We also really like the PushLock with the carabiner. It makes the speaker easy to secure on the bike, and we don’t feel like it is going to bounce loose or fall off at any moment. The fact that they are waterproof on a bike is priceless, because sooner or later, weather happens. We’ve already taken them on a couple of 12-hour bike days, and the batteries outlasted the rides. So far, they have been with us for about 400 miles of biking, and they will be keeping us company on RAGBRAI this year. Great sound, great size, great battery life, solid connectivity, and better value than we expected. Highly recommend these. We’re looking forward to many years and many more miles of music with them. ... show more

  • JBL speakers are the best for the price
Color: Orange
Deep bass, loud volume, they also have a newer jbl app that you can use to mess with the settings which is cool! Used it all day today at work and it never had one hick-up with connection or power draining! Super easy to get started using it and I enjoy using jbl as a brand! Super reliable and well buy again from them! ... show more

  • Gets loud and stays clear even on 10
Color: Teal
Double edit. This is a piece of crap. It’s sounds great but with a full charge dies after 2 hours at most. I Would. NOT buy this !!!!!!Edit. After having a short time I feel I need to add something. It does sound great but don’t expect more than 3 hours of music from it before recharging. Also you can’t just plug it in when the battery dies. When it dies it has to be charged or it does nothing.🙁love this thing! I love to blast some music in the garage. And Al’s listen to audiobooks lol works great for both. The bass is amazing for the size. I tried the next size up JBL but it wasn’t handy to just move with one hand from the garage to the kitchen or wherever in the house I had a cheaper speaker about the same size. But when I play some music it was like night and day. The jbl blew the cheaper one away ... show more

  • Amazing
Color: Purple
The sound is incredible. It’s quite powerful, the battery lasts a long time, it’s worth the price, and it connects easily.

  • Hard to beat for the size.
Color: Purple
The Flip 7 is outstanding for what it is - a compact portable Bluetooth speaker that is made for music on the go. The Bass is outrageous for being so small - and is the thing that friends and family comment on when hearing it for the first time. Super convenient strap and carabiner style latch that are interchangeable with a quick push of a button. I have a buddy that has a JBL Boom Box, and the two flip 7's together (using Aruacast) do not come close to the sound quality or quantity of that... but when I need something to take with me on vacation and fits in my suitcase without robbing too much space - these Flip 7's are hard to beat. Battery seems good. Waterproofing seems legit. ... show more

  • Love it! Perfect for SUP (paddleboarding)! Wish it had a mic and charge capability but oh well
Color: Teal
Works great! Wish it had a mic, though. Wish it worked as a charger like the JBL charge, too. I use it on my paddleboard all summer and its been absolutely lovely!

  • Good sound, with a few disappointments.
Color: Black
So for context, I bought this to replace an aging Bose Soundlink Micro that had been in daily use for probably 6 or 7 years at this point. Still working, but battery life was noticeably degraded, the strap broke years ago, and it had developed an annoying hiss/static noise at lower volumes. I'm sure I got thousands of hours of listening out of it, so hard to be disappointed there. Build quality is quite good. Feels solid and can stand up to being tossed around as portable speakers tend to. The "burrito" form factor makes it easy to stick in a water bottle slot or cup holder and easily fits in a bag. The interchangeable (replaceable) loop/carabiner is a nice touch, given the elastic strap on the Bose was molded in/non replaceable and broke after a year or two. Lots of colors to choose from, though I got the ordinary black (I suspect the white/tans would start to look grubby fairly soon if you use them outdoors). Sound quality is quite good, surprisingly rich and bassy at lower to mid volumes. You can tell at about 70% volume it starts pulling bass to avoid distortion, but if you routinely are needing to use it at full volume, probably a good idea to move up to a larger speaker, like the Charge or Xtreme. The Flip is good for personal to small group listening, although indoors, it can fill a moderate size room assuming you just want some "background music" and not DJing a party. JBL has some secret sauce when it comes to having the sound be surprisingly non-directional. The actual drivers are behind the logo on the front, yet unlike a lot of other speakers, you don't need to have it pointed directly at you to sound good. The bluetooth works exactly as expected, with typical BT range- about 30-40ft. Nothing to note there. It does support the newer Auracast protocol, which in theory should make it compatible to pair up with other brand speakers that are Auracast enabled as it's a BT standard, not a proprietary pairing mode, although suspect that probably won't be the case, too early to know since JBL seems to be the only company integrating it to their speakers, everyone else is still using proprietary modes exclusive to that brand's products. The buttons work also as expected and are quite intuitive. The play/pause button also has the now mostly standard double-tap to skip forward, or triple tap to skip back so you can control it without your phone. The volume control also syncs to your phone, which also thankfully is becoming standard. Couple little issues though that to me keep it from being perfect. -As virtually every review of a JBL speaker mentions, the battery life claim is not realistic, and evidently assumes playing it at a quite low volume (like it's on a desk or bedside table at 10-20% volume for personal listening in a quiet room). 6 hours of 20% playing used 40% of the battery, so that lines up with the 14 hour claim. But used outdoors, it's going to be at least at 40-50% and the battery life rapidly diminishes if you crank it up. At full blast, just 1 hour wiped out half the battery. For high volume/outdoors use, you probably want to go up to the Charge. -Unlike the 7 year old Bose (and most other modern BT devices), this does not broadcast it's battery level over the standard BT protocol, so you can't quickly check battery off your phone's BT banner or tab- you have to open the JBL app. It does have a little battery "gauge" on the back that turns on if you press any button that gives you a vague "full, med, low" sort of bar. Little nitpick, but why they omitted that is odd. -It also charges relatively slow Despite being USB-C, it doesn't seem to support any rapid charging protocol. The manual says 5v/3a, but my measurement peaked at 10 watts, so it only seems to draw about 2 amps. It also claims to recharge in 2.5 hours, for me that was closer to 4. (that was using a PD-enabled 65w charger, so not a charger limitation). For a 2025 release product, that's not great. -The power/BT buttons are backlit. The play/pause and fwd/rev buttons (that you interact with more often) are not. Odd design choice. More odd....the tiny LEDs of the battery indicator turn off after a few seconds, presumably to save battery. The button backlights are on all the time, and are really quite bright. In a dark room, they can serve as a dim flashlight to find your way around, so are also annoyingly bright for bedside listening. You can "flip" the speaker upside down so it's "sitting" on the power button to hide the light, but think it'd be easy enough to have an option in the app to turn that off. Nope. That possibly could be added in a future firmware, but at present, they're always on. -No speakerphone. Not a deal breaker, but for the premium price they're asking, would think that'd be included. Being I use it on my desk while working, the Bose was occasionally convenient to just take a call if one came in (and sounded excellent on both ends). The app works well enough but is largely inessential. Install it once to update the firmware, play around with the EQ if you want, but after that you can realistically delete it unless you plan to use the multi-point pairing on a regular basis (which can be done via the speaker also). TL;DR +Sound quality +Build quality/ruggedness +Portability +Sound has a good 360* effect. - Mediocre battery life - Slow charging - MSRP is getting steep, I'd wait for a sale or consider a prior generation. ... show more

  • Portable and decent sound
Color: Sand
It does have decent sound for the size, does fit in a cup holder but sound does get muffled the speakers is right behind the logo. Does have a sleep if it’s not in use and the little carabiner is cheap but does work better to use the loop and place a more durable carabiner through the loop. It’s decent for music, books and pod cast. Battery power does last all day. Connectivity was easy and the app is okay from the size of the mono speakers. The reason I gave it a 4 was I have had connections issues where I will turn it on pause a book and then press play to find out it muted it self. But for the price it’s not worth 150 unless you can get it on sale for cheaper maybe 75 to 100. Sony has a better quality for 150 ... show more
