Frequently asked questions

The JBL CLUB6520 has a peak power handling capacity of up to 300 watts. This gives it the ability to handle high levels of sound for a prolonged period without any deterioration in sound quality.

The JBL CLUB6520 package includes a pair of speakers, i.e., two speakers. Remember, these are coaxial speakers, meaning they are designed as one unit with the tweeter placed over the woofer. It makes for easier installation and conserves space.

The JBL CLUB6520 car speakers are 6.5 inches in size. They are designed in a way to easily fit into the factory speaker locations of many cars with little to no modifications.

The 2-Way feature refers to the speaker's ability to output sound along two different channels - the woofer and the tweeter. It helps in achieving a more balanced and detailed sound by separating the high-frequency sounds (output by the tweeter) and the lower frequency sounds (output by the woofer).

  • Great low cost upgrade
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
I bought an old beater car to use in town and save gas. It had an old beat up Kenwood with no Bluetooth in it. Because this car is old and high mileage I didn’t want to spend a lot. This radio was a great choice. Super easy to set up. My only negative is the display doesn’t get very bright. But other than that I love it. You have Bluetooth and usb and aux line to use. Actually you have 2 Bluetooth. The coolest part is if you already have a Sony Bluetooth speaker this radio uses the same app and you can control everything though your phone. I added 4 new 6.5 inch JBL speakers and the sound is 1000 times better. No it is not high end and not for the pickiest of listeners. But for the money it was a great upgrade to my old clunker. ... show more

  • Fantastic Quality That Won't Break The Bank
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
These things are FANTASTIC. I am very picky about sound quality, considering myself an audiophile, and after looking around, decided on these. I couldn't spend a ton of money but my car needed new speakers as the stock ones had gone bad. They were a fantastic choice. I have a 2009 Pontiac G6, and being a GM vehicle, if you don't get adapters you WILL HAVE TO HARDWIRE THEM! It isnt hard but if you aren't too sure what you're doing, wait and get the adapter. But everything went off without a hitch. The bass is great, and the mids and highs are very clear and sparkly. They do have a little too much treble for my liking but thats nothing adjusting the settings in the car won't fix. And that isnt always a bad thing, as some people like a little more sparkle as opposed to boom. They do come with cute covers that look quite stylish, but my doors already have covers for the speakers so I didn't need them. So, now I have the best sounding G6 in my neighborhood. (There are like 30. Man there's a lot of these cars around.) They are not the best speakers you can buy, you can do better of course, but for the price I was very very impressed! The average listener will absolutely enjoy these. ... show more

  • Great speakers.
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
I have loved JBL speakers for years. I just installed them in my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. They fit, but needed the supplied brackets. There isn't any hardware so get some wire and small speaker terminals, and some inch long screws. They sound SO GOOD, and they can handle the cars radio input, so they have PLENTY of bass. Love these. ... show more

  • Probably one of the best if not then the best on the market for the money.
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
I got these speakers to replace the stock system in my 2011 Honda Pilot with the EX-L trim package and the stock head unit with no amp. at first I was so bummed at the lack of bass, but let me tell you that goes away in maybe 1-2 hours of heavy use and then just gets better for the next 30-100 hours of normal usage. Now the stock speakers looked so cheap next to these but I thought they had more bass so i was ready to return these but I let them break in for a little bit and they give a solid gut pinching bass that’s just feels high quality. They fit in the holes of the car well. Don’t think these speakers will make up for a lack of a subwoofer though they aren’t that punchy, but they will make most stock systems sound SO MUCH BETTER. I got 4 of the 6.5” speakers and 2 of the 3/4” tweeters for the car and my system sounds so good. I don’t have the money for a sub right now but I will be looking towards JBL for that when the time comes ... show more

  • Excellent option to pull the most power from your stock head unit, but MUST give break in time for the bass.
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
Excellent treble and mid-range, very efficient with high sensitivity to get good volume out of your watts. They are 3 Ohm, so even with cheap thin factory wiring it will help pull the power it should from your factory deck by settling at a final load about 4 Ohm. Other performance speakers may come from 3.3-4 Ohm despite all being labelled as 4 Ohm, you really won't know on any specific model unless you look up the spec sheet online, If you run an amplifier, it really shouldn't matter but with these being clearly 3.0 Ohm, they help pull the full amount of power available from your non-amplified head units, but also work well with an amp with it's good RMS handling level. Note: There will be little Bass at first, they take a month / 25+ hours of use to break in and loosen up and then the bass will come. This is especially true of stock power head units. You can speed up the process a bit by playing as much bass heavy stuff you can just don't push them to the point of distortion. Mine are finally hitting nice and deep after about 5 weeks with a low-power factory head unit, amplified they will probably break in faster. Adding months later now: yep, these definitely take a LONG time to break in using only deck power, after five 5-6 months I'm FINALLY seeing the bass I've been expecting. This is probably true with any speaker that can accept high power, they are built tighter to handle that high power so it will take a while using only deck power. ... show more

  • Great upgrade from factory speakers for a factory head unit.
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
Great upgrade from factory speakers for a factory head unit. It all started with a sub woofer. After I installed a 10" sub, it just drowned out everything else so I decided to upgrade my 3.5" dash speakers to the JBL Club. The sound quality on those were so impressive I had to change my door speakers to the matching 6.5s. So far the mid to highs are very good. Night and day compared to the factory speakers. The mid to lower end bass is okay. TBH I was disappointed at first but after a small break in time and noticable improvement I'm no longer worried. I also read a review that said it takes about 24hrs of play time to fully break in and the bass improves tremendously. Based on my experience so far I can believe it. As far as installation, it wasn't too bad. I ordered the appropriate wiring harnesses and door adapters, a couple YouTube videos and a few hours later I had everything installed. Probably 10 mins for the dash, which is basically plug and play. Removing the door panels and door speakers was probably the most difficult part, but once you get one down the rest are easy. I plan on installing some foam "FAST" rings onto the door speakers and sound treatment to the doors and panels as well. This should improve the overall sound quality as well and then I believe these speakers will really shine. Overall, great speakers if you're looking to upgrade your old factory paper speakers. ... show more

  • grate speakers, sound Good , in a system
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
they sound good in my system, Crisp High's - good mid-bass.. one of the best budget speakers iv ever bought - it comes with a multi-car adaptor - altho not made for my 94 Dakota slt - the mount makes it ez to drill in new holes to upgrade from 5.25 to 6.5 on the front speakers, bolted on top of the stock mount, and is shallow-enough to fix no issues with the window, I don't suggest using the speaker wires this set comes with- very weak quality seems like they put old phone cable in the box .. drop-off is at 70ish hz and the (high-pass at 110hz = unlimited volume) crossover for the tweeter is around 6,000hz ,, (for the bandpass people) ... show more

  • There's Nothing CLUB About These
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
I've had these speakers for 3 years now and they are still running strong. If you just want to replace your stock speakers with something a little cleaner sounding, or if your stock speaker broke and you want to replace it, then these are great. But otherwise they don't offer much despite the JBL name. I ran these off the stock Mazda head unit and more recently through an Alpine amp. Even with the amp you don't get much performance out of these. Low maximum volume, muffled bass and even more muffled high's. These are not much better than some $30 Kenwoods I had before (which had muffled bass but decent highs). After much trial and error in this segment of speakers, I highly recommend spending a little more for the Infinity Reference series of speakers. They output much more volume with bright highs and thumping lows. I still have my JBL Clubs in my back doors and they run just fine, but when I fade the music all the way to the back, even through my amp, the power just isnt there with these that you would evpect for $60 and CLUB in the name. ... show more
