Frequently asked questions

The JBL CLUB6520 has a peak power handling capacity of up to 300 watts. This gives it the ability to handle high levels of sound for a prolonged period without any deterioration in sound quality.

The JBL CLUB6520 package includes a pair of speakers, i.e., two speakers. Remember, these are coaxial speakers, meaning they are designed as one unit with the tweeter placed over the woofer. It makes for easier installation and conserves space.

The JBL CLUB6520 car speakers are 6.5 inches in size. They are designed in a way to easily fit into the factory speaker locations of many cars with little to no modifications.

The 2-Way feature refers to the speaker's ability to output sound along two different channels - the woofer and the tweeter. It helps in achieving a more balanced and detailed sound by separating the high-frequency sounds (output by the tweeter) and the lower frequency sounds (output by the woofer).

  • Extremely GOOD quality!
The JBL Club 3020 3.5โ€ 2โ€‘Way Coaxial Car Speakers are a fantastic upgrade from factory speakers. The sound is clear and crisp, with great highs and surprisingly good bass for such a compact 3.5โ€ speaker. • Punchy little speakers at an affordable price point Punchy little speakers at an affordable price point
Style: 5"x7" / 6"x8" Speakers
I've done a number of audio upgrades to numerous vehicles in the past, so I am no stranger to a simple speaker swap. Given the weird speaker size in the C pillars of the PT Cruiser, I found these. My first time using JBL for audio. But the price was right, and reviews were solid. The quality has not dissappointed, they feel of solid quality like they should last. The sound quality has a nice well rounded sound stage - perfectly adequate for the rear of the vehicle. Mine are powered by a 4 channel kicker crossover amplifier and not the head unit, so with the volume up they are nice and punchy with no distortion of muddy audio. Sound is nice and clear throughout the volume range. Installation was a breeze, they fit right in with a few millimeters to spare on the magnet and a support beam on the body of my vehicle. The only downside (if you can call it one) is there were no included wires with the speakers. Usually when I buy Sony/Pioneer/Infinity they always come with 2 pairs of wires I can plug into the speakers and crimp onto the existing harness. No big deal, I just soldered the wires directly for a secure connection. If you're on the fence about these, they are great speakers and worth taking a punt on them. I have no experience with them being driven by the head unit, but by an amplifier they are great. ... show more

  • Great sound quality for the price
Style: 5-1/4" Component Speakers
Bought these as replacements for the factory tweeter/mid-woofer set that was obviously damaged in my car. I would say that I am better than your average shade tree car stereo installer if that helps anyone. First off the package was much smaller than i expected and there is a bunch packed into it tightly. Be careful unpacking. The mid-woofer has a rubber surround which I noticed first off. The terminals for the speakers are somewhat flimsy but almost all JBL speakers I have used since 1986 have this similar design. Be careful placing the speaker terminals on. Soldering would be better but getting the terminal hot could cause other issues. the tweeter is about the diameter of a quarter only 1/2" tall. It comes with so many different mounting devices for the tweeter that you should not have any issues mounting them just about anywhere. I used the universal star looking ones and broke off some perforated tabs to make it fit into the factory location using the factory mounting brackets for the originals. The screw terminals on the crossover makes it easier to hook without adding other connector hardware (slide terminals, etc.). The only real complaint was trying to figure out which terminal on the tweeter is positive. It comes with a pigtail cable already soldered in and about 6" of wire. Turns out after some digging that the wire with the black stripe (hard to see) is actually the negative (-) wire. Hope this helps. Once mounted these sound really good. My cavernous door panel could use some insulation behind it to help improve the mid-bass sound but that's being overly critical. The tweeter is clean and does not fatigue the hearing at higher volumes. I love them and would recommend them. Oh yeah I am only pushing them with factory deck power so 14+ watts....still sound very very good. Be sure to use the crossovers provided or they will sound horrible. Take care in wiring the crossover also if not wired correctly these will definitely not sound right and will do damage. Be sure to check out the helpful videos on JBL website before buying and purchasing. For the price this is an amazing value. ... show more

  • A big upgrade over the stock speakers, well worth the price
These speakers are big upgrade over the stock speakers. The tweeters are compact and fit well in a 2014 Jeep JK if you have the surface mount pods on top of the dash, just remove the old and slide in the new with a little silicone sealer to hold them in. Overall the sound is clear and the bass is pretty good with an aftermarket Alpine upgraded system. The sound is a little strident but this is most likely due to the lack of power from the head unit. Add an amp and a subwoofer and these should come on to their own quite nicely. I do have two gripes however.... 1. The speakers come with NO WIRE... This is a bit odd since the tweeters have less than a foot of wire leads. The spade connectors on the tweeters must also be cut and stripped to use the supplied crossover.. pretty odd considering these are made to be placed separately in the vehicle but there isn't adequate wire to do so.. 2. The speaker adapters have too many gaps to make an air tight seal. Yes JBL supplies foam tape, but only enough for one side of the adapter, leaving the other side to leak air badly and sacrifice bass response, Again pretty odd.. If they included the wire needed for the tweeters, and enough foam tape to seal the speakers correctly this would have been a 5 star review. As it sits right now just be aware you will need to shop for a few things to do the job correctly. ... show more

  • Great low cost upgrade
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
I bought an old beater car to use in town and save gas. It had an old beat up Kenwood with no Bluetooth in it. Because this car is old and high mileage I didnโ€™t want to spend a lot. This radio was a great choice. Super easy to set up. My only negative is the display doesnโ€™t get very bright. But other than that I love it. You have Bluetooth and usb and aux line to use. Actually you have 2 Bluetooth. The coolest part is if you already have a Sony Bluetooth speaker this radio uses the same app and you can control everything though your phone. I added 4 new 6.5 inch JBL speakers and the sound is 1000 times better. No it is not high end and not for the pickiest of listeners. But for the money it was a great upgrade to my old clunker. ... show more

  • Great speakers.
Style: 6-1/2" Speakers
I have loved JBL speakers for years. I just installed them in my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. They fit, but needed the supplied brackets. There isn't any hardware so get some wire and small speaker terminals, and some inch long screws. They sound SO GOOD, and they can handle the cars radio input, so they have PLENTY of bass. Love these. ... show more

  • Failing after 1 Year.... Crisp Audio, Bass sounds blows
Installed these in my sprinter to replace the 20yr old factory speakers, and it was night and day. Incredible volume, crispy audio, bass was deep. For 4" speakers, I couldn't ask for anything better. I don't play music too loud, I like volume fairly low, and I just used factory bass settings. So these were perfect for me. Fast forward just over a year, audio is still crisp but the bass sounds completely blown for both the L and R speakers. raspy, distorted, heavy vibration. Super wild. Seems like they failed? I reached out to JBL for warranty info, but it's just outside the 1 year mark (which is a horrible offering. why make a product that will only last a year? yikes). I had jbl portable speakers for years, and sadly they all stopped working. I switched companies for that. If i dont get replacements from them, I'm going to move away from JBL entirely. I don't recommend given the unreliability. ... show more
