I have previously owned the Bose Soundllink Mini II. I have replaced the battery in it and used it until it simply ceased functioning. I debated whether to seek out a new battery or to just replace the unilt all together. After having seen this speaker at a local store, I never realized just how much technology has advanced, as far as the sound coming out of such a small speaker. I decided to investigate this particular speaker and found quite a few article and comments on just how nice of a speaker it truly is. At that point, I decided to go ahead and buy one. It arrived in a timely manner and I have to say, it was easy to set up and pair up to my iPhone. Now, I take it out with me when I go out to the front porch and listen to a book or music, while enjoying the weather and outdoors. With its built in clip (hence the name), it can be clipped to just about anything, including backpacks, belt loops, or anything in which you can loop to. The clip is solid and easy to put on/off. PROS: JBL quality, sound quality is awesome, ease of pairing to my iPhone, size, battery life CONS: None noted at the time of this review. ... show more

Somebody left one of these behind at my son's AirBnB, we got it working pretty easily and used it for the next week while we worked painting and maintaining the property. Super simple to get the Bluetooth working, small, portable, clip-on design makes it practical and easy and, for what it is and costs, excellent sound! I'm a musician so I hope for decent fidelity in any device. Do the vocals sound natural, is there audible bass, does it produce the sounds of the instruments evenly? It's not tinny, boomy or harsh. If you're an audio snob, look elsewhere but if you want better than decent sound in an easy portable format that's great for listening when you're busy, CLIP IT! ... show more

I had to grab this speaker while it was on sale! I love the carabiner clip, it makes it easy to have music on the go. Also the size of the speaker is about the palm of your hand so I can pack it in my luggage as well!

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love this JBL Clip speaker. On long jogs with my kiddos, I clip it onto the stroller and play music for them — they love it, and it makes our runs so much more fun. The size is tiny, but the sound quality is shockingly good. It has that classic JBL punchy bass, and it easily fills the space around us, whether we’re outside on the trails or walking through the park. The built-in carabiner is one of my favorite features. It opens wider now, so I can clip it onto basically anything — the stroller, my bag, my belt loop, even hooks in the car. Speaking of the car, my radio stopped working, so I actually use this as my car speaker and it works way better than I expected. The battery life is great too. I get up to 12 hours on a single charge, and if I need extra time, Playtime Boost adds even more hours. I never have to worry about it dying mid-outing. ... show more

A compact, high-quality product, just what I needed for the beach. The compatibility between JBL speakers is good but not perfect. The sound is good as long as the rear speaker isn't clipped.

The clip makes it easily portable, of course, though it can't stand on its own. The IP67 rating and rugged design make it suitable for outdoor usage; it has a very solid feel and nice heft to it. This paragraph is copied from the Go 4 review, as Bluetooth and buttons work the same on both devices, though the front button push of the Clip 5 feels crisper: Getting it connected takes less than a minute, though the optional app lets you customize the equalizer and see more information about it. I love that I can just turn it on and have the audio transfer over without any fuss. The buttons on top are also easy to distinguish, and the side buttons slightly divot in and will push in, so they're easy to distinguish in the dark too. Very thoughtful functions all around and solid build quality (I've already dropped it once on a hard floor without issue), especially at this price. Clip 5 vs Go 4: Though I already have the Go 4, I was leaning more heavily towards the Clip 5, and wanted to have one that'd stand on its own without needing a separate case or item for a stand. The Go 4 seems to start louder (had turned both down all the way first), though it can sound minorly more tinny with lower quality audio with lyrics. I'm guessing that some may not even notice the difference. For higher quality music or progressive/house, the difference isn't too noticeable, though the Clip 5 definitely has better bass (where you can feel it) due to its larger speaker and size. It's a shame Amazon, as the seller, hadn't had Sand in stock to match the Go 4 I already had, but the white look matching JBL's brand colors is very nice too and probably fits better in more formal environments. Onto Auracast: They were fun to pair together with minimal delay (whether via app or button push), though it's important to note that there's a minor bug in the app. If they're added to a party in the app, it doesn't seem like pressing Auracast on the device will remove it from the group. For stereo pairing, there needs to be two of the same device, which is pretty common for functionality like that. ... show more
