    • Pleased with the Sound Bar and JBL Support
The JBK Bar 500 sound bar met my expectations and I am very pleased with my pyrchase. The shipper did not iver promise the delivery time. I fact the sound bar arrived several days before the promised date. Unpacking and coonection to my TV went smoothly. Because I am not knowledgeable in how electronic devices work, I had some trouble understanding the setup process. The JBL Support representative walked me through the process very carefully and with admirable patience. I cannot comnend JBL highly enough for their support. Now that the speaker is set up properly I am enjoying the full spectrum of sound from the television and other devices as well. The JBL sound bar replaced a surround sound system with a tuner snd multiple speakers that was damaged by a lightening strike. The sound quality is equal to, or even better than that sound system. I have been particularly impressed with the sub woofer performance. As I watched the movie Braveheart again, the sound of battle and especially of the thunder charging horses transported made the battles of Stirling Bridge and Falkirk come to life. I commend this product to thise who are looking for a sound bar that does what it supposed to do. ... show more

I recently purchased the JBL Bar 500 and I’m very impressed with the sound quality. The audio is clear, powerful, and the bass from the subwoofer is deep without being overwhelming. Dolby Atmos really adds a great surround sound experience, especially for movies and TV shows. Setup was quick and easy, and the design looks sleek and modern.     • Exceeded expectations. Love it!!!
This system is AWESOME!! I started out buying the Sonos Arc Ultra for over $1000. Out was also an amazing sound, but the JBL is easily on par with it despite some differences. I returned the Sonos because the app had so much difficulty connecting with things that I anticipated a troublesome future. I then bought a used (like new) version of the JBL 500 and absolutely LOVE IT!!! The music tones are crisp and clear as is the dialogue quality which is probably the best quality I’ve ever heard. The subwoofer base adds so much depth, I never looked back with doubt about this purchase. I ended up saving $600 from the Sonos and haven’t missed it for a minute. This unit is simple to install and produces a high-end sound that works flawlessly. Super happy with this choice and I think any discerning audiophile would be to. While you will never get the separation a surround system can provide, this a an excellent way to get outstanding sound quality and plenty of bass for your TV viewing. The dialog is clear when watching shows and movies and there are some pretty cool effects produced from both surround and Atmos sources. Music also sounds very good. Other than the lack of stereo separation and the absence of rear speakers, this is a very good system. I do feel like the app could provide more functionality though. ... show more

    • Fantastically easy to set up and use. Great solution for blending in.
Needed a simple solution to living room audio that nobody would complain about using, looking at, or bad sound quality. Worked flawlessly with my Roku Ultra and Sony TV, I can control everything from my Roku remote and all of the devices turn off with the same power button. Setup was as simple as plug it in and turn it on. Bass sync'd automatically, and no configuration was required for HDMI pass through setup. Sounds way better than the built in Sony speakers on the TV I have, and isn't unsightly for the space. Doesn't sound as good as the Studio 580s or 270s in the basement, but that's not what I bought it for. 10/10, if you can afford it compared to other sound bars, highly recommended. ... show more

I am extremely happy with the JBL Bar 500: 5.1-Channel soundbar with MultiBeam™ and Dolby Atmos. I returned a couple units that were good but I wanted more bass and boy, I got with this unit. The subwoofer sets this unit apart from others in the same $300-400 price range. With the ability to control it from the included remote and with even more user controls from a smart phone, you cant beat the sound quality and customizable equalizer settings for music, movies, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to Listeners who enjoy bass and dont want to spend $1000 ... show more

The JBL Bar 500 esceeded my expectations. The tonal quality is quite neutral and the bass is plenty strong. I have te bass turned down half way so there is plenty of boom left if you prefer that. The spacial effects are convincing as well. I highly recommend this at this price point.
