Do not expect miracles from this unit. I bought it mainly because of space restrictions. Price was my second consideration and the 5 channel surround units were too large to fit on my TV stand. I connected it using an optical cable to my Samsung 40 inch set, it turned out to have approximately the same sound quality and power as the TV speakers although it is advertised as an 80 W unit.
