The subwoofer is way more effective than I thought it would be and the sound is great. Set up was easy enough. Only thing I can complain about it on random shows or movies, the dialog is not as easy to hear so sometimes I switch to my tv speakers. I went through all the setting to figure out a way to remedy this with the soundbar, but I couldn't figure out a way to improve it. It doesn't happen often though. ... show more

    • Simple to install, very nice sound.
I like this sound bar. It replaces one I didn't like and that eventually failed from some undetermined lack of commitment. I appreciate that the LED indicators are front facing so I can see them from a chair. (My old oner had the indicators on the top, easily seen from the ceiling.) I like the ability to connect with an optical cable, which is quick and away from all the HDMI connectors. I put the base about six feet away and I have had to relearn which deep sounds are from the TV and which are outside. I like this soundbar- I might buy another of the same to improve some other TVs. ... show more

This soundbar blew my mind. The sound is better than I thought. I decided to buy this because I was setting up my first theater system. I decided I was gonna go cheap with everything such as projector, projector screen and speakers. I wasn't expecting quality, but this JBL speaker delivered quality with value.     • Don't buy this product
This item was extremely difficult to install, had to hire an expert. The re was not manul , what we received was in every language but English and the the print was so fine, we could hardly read it. Still waiting for complete installation

    • ZERO STARS EARNED, due to lack of customer service, really. They don't deserve one star.
ZERO STARS EARNED, I WAS REQUIRED TO GIVE ONE STAR. I like the JBL Flip5 smart speakers I have, so I bought a JBL 2.1 sound bar with subwoofer. The remote could not be opened, and the sub would not pair with the sound bar. It was “renewed”, I assume by Harman/JBL. I contacted Harman/JBL customer service, and explained my problems thoroughly. Initially they seemed very helpful. They said the remote was defective, and they would replace it if I sent receipt and serial number, so I sent them. The only option to run the sub is by Bluetooth. They explained that the sub and sound bar were paired in the factory, but sometimes they need to be re paired manually, and they sent instructions to pair them manually. I followed the instructions for pairing carefully. I explained that after attempting to pair manually, they paired, but the sound bar turned off instantly when I turned on the sound bar. In response, they sent the exact same instructions, and asked again for the serial number I already sent before. I attempted to pair manually 7 times, same bad results. Again I sent the serial number, and again carefully described how the sound bar turned off when I manually paired, and when I restarted the sound bar, the sub instantly un paired. Again, there response was to send the same instructions for manually pairing, and again they asked me to send te serial number, which they’ve asked for twice. No other comments, remedies, or Suggestions. Again no replacement remote. Again, I attempted to re pair sound bar and sub, 10 times, with exactly the same results, they would not pair and play. The sub woofer never made one soundl What they call customer service does not service customers. I’m returning the system for full refund. Their customer service is useless. They’re essentially denying that the equipment they renewed and sold me has a problem. It has 2 legitimate problems, and I’m absolutely disgusted. I will never buy any Harman JBL equipment again. ... show more

The sound bar is nearly 50% off renewed. As CNET said, spend a bit more on this one and get a heck of a big sound. The bass is STRONG and carries the low notes. While I wish it was a bit more customizable to make speaking (center channel) louder, this sound bar packs a punch and is at a great price. I've owned several sound bars (and one heck of a Yamaha sound system) and I love the simplicity of the unit. It's able to figure out where the audio should be. No need to be messing around with the televisions original audio. It automatically pipes the sound through and it sounds rich. And if you have the house to yourself you can really crank up the audio to enjoy a great action flick. ... show more
