  • The best value. A great bike.
Color: Gray Style: With Rear Rack and Fenders
Truly the best value around. This is a great bike with solid components. SOME HIGHLIGHTS: - Pricing: Right now for me this bike is $100 off with FREE delivery. Many of the other models have $100+ in delivery charge. If you factor in the cost of delivery and the specs, this bike is the best value by far. There's no reason to consider any other bike - Components: They're good solid components for this price point. Are they the best components? Of course not. Are they bad components? Absolutely not. - Installation: most of the critical things came installed. The front wheel need to be installed. And of course the handle bars and the seat. But the great thing is this bike came with all the tools needed to do the installation. No need to worry about having the right tools. - Power: This bike comes locked at 20 MPH from the factory. I did eventually future out how to tweak the settings that allowed me to hit 26 MPH (see more info below). - Support: So unfortunately my bike had an issue with the charger port / charger. I was concerned about it not getting properly resolved but as others have indicated, support is good. So a few emails with support, I was able to get the charger issue resolved. The manual/instructions for this bike is adequate for installation, but does lack some critical info. The following instructions is for the EB5 Plus model. I imagine they are similar for other bikes with a similar display computer. To change or remove the speed limiter setting, do the following: - power on battery - hold the "M" button down for a few seconds to power on the display - simultaneously hold-down the up and down buttons for a few seconds and it will go into the settings menu. If you're doing this for the first time, you will see "P01" (where the "1" is the much smaller 3rd LCD digit due to the way the LCD is designed for normal usage.) Each press of the "M" button will increment you to the next setting such as "P02", "P03", etc. - Keep pressing "M" until you get to "P08". From the factory, the value P08 will be "32" which I believe stands for 32 KPH (or 20 MPH). - Press the up or down buttons to change the value. Set the value to 100 to have no limiter. - Stay away from "P07". Based on some other Internet pages, I think that is the speed measuring magnet setting. If you change that one, the setting will seem to lock up and your calculated MPH will then be all messed up. I know because it happened to me... - HOWEVER, if you do mess up your settings, you can do a factory reset by going to P16, then hold the down button for about 6 seconds and all your settings should return to factory default (which will put your speed limiter setting back at 20 MPH / 32 KPH). - when you're done changing your settings, you can press the up and down buttons again to save and exit the settings menu. Or you can wait a while and it will kick out of the settings menu automatically. You can do web search of "ebike set LCD display parameters" for what others have documented for this ebike display settings. It seems many ebikes share the same settings. ... show more

  • Defective charger & Horrible customer support
Color: Citrine Style: Standard
I ordered an EB plus 5 bike from Jaison. When we tried charging the first time the charger led light won’t turn red as it is supposed to. We called the customer service line and they said a lot of their bikes were having a charger issue and we need to send an email to the support team and they’ll send us a new charger. We did that and no response till now (over 10 days).. Then I tried reaching them through their website. But again - no response. The e-bike is pretty much useless without the charger. Leaving this review out of frustration. If I don’t hear after this review I’ll apply for a full refund at Amazon. ... show more

  • It's a cheap ebike - just remember that
Color: Blue Style: Standard
First assembly wasn't bad and I found instructions to be pretty good. But when I was done and took it out for my first ride the chain snapped about a block from my house. The good news is I was able to use the throttle to get home without pedaling. So I took it to a bike shop to get a new chain. The guy working on it had a few things to say about misinstalled components and quality of brakes etc... he replaced the chain and fixed an issue with the derailleur (was misaligned and needed quite a bit of adjustment) But he got it working and installed a bag rack on the back also. I should point out that I also contacted jasion and they sent me a new chain. They were responsive for those concerned about customer service. They offered to cover cost of bike shop too. I also bought a nice name brand $1800 ebike for my wife recently. So far with shipping taxes and bike repair my total on this bike is a third of that. And I think I am willing to spend additional $ to get a good ebike for under $1000. I imagine the brakes will need to be replaced soon (they need an adjustment now and are very loose and the bike mechanic told me the front was bent or warped already). And I've read other reviews that the battery will need to be replaced (around $200) but with proper use and charging i am hopeful mine will last a while. We rode our ebikes yesterday afternoon to dinner and back and the bike performed very well. The throttle works good. I found myself using assist level 1 or 2 most of the time. But tried out assist level 5 on the way home and really flew. The brakes were not great and need adjustment as already mentioned. The ride was fine. Headlight worked well and really illuminated a dark trail for us. We rode about 8 miles and I still have a full battery. Road again 20 miles with minimal assist on first 10 miles and average assist level 3 on return trip. Battery indicator still said Battery was fully charged after that. I suspect charge indicator isn't working or accurate. Left pedal arm kept coming loose during ride and I stopped at least 5 times to tighten it. The bottom line is if you buy this you need to be prepared to do some work on it. I would advise putting a quality chain on it right away. Maybe even have a full bike tune up. But if you want a good ebike for affordable price and don't mind doing some work then this is a good choice. Update - the left pedal arm completely failed and I had to replace both pedal arms and the crank had to be replaced. Sent email to Jasion and they offered to pay 70% of repair costs. Pedal arm was made of super soft metal and just wore down quickly. I have about 40 miles on the bike. ... show more
