This product is not big enough to open Mason jars. I purchased it to open Mason Jars, it is technically able to open wide enough to grasp a Mason Jar, but then you need gigantic hands to hold the tool. If I had gigantic hands, I wouldn't need this tool. Even when I tried to squeeze it on a Mason jar, it slipped off. This tool is for small jars. This product claims to open jars, makes no mention that it's for small-jars only. Deceptive.

I got this because sometimes Gatorade bottles are hard to open and I don't always have a strongman around to help. I had used a tool like the larger one in this set, and it had worked well. This one however, slipped on the cap when I tried to use it and it cut into the plastic on the opener tool. So that was bad. But the flat, round piece of rubber gave me the additional grip I needed to open it with my own strength. I have used that round rubber piece on other things and I can always get things open. So good. The third tool I've never used and don't see a need. Too bad I didn't just order the round rubber piece alone, but overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

I'm starting to have difficulties opening jars and bottles and this is probably the best purchase I've made in a long time. I was amazed at how easy it was to open a 2 L bottle of soda without any effort. I highly recommend this product if you have arthritis in your hands or carpal tunnel.

These jar grippers work ok but sometimes it takes 10-20 minutes to open a jar. It still takes many painful attempts to break the seal on jars. Although i would never get the jars open without these grippers i'm not impressed with them.

Not big enough to open a jar of pickles which is why I bought it…also the round gripper thing is made out of silicone for some reason. It should be rubber instead because the silicone doesn’t work. Still can’t get my jar opened!

I was visiting my children and they had a Bottle opener with this shape and it worked well so I went to buy one like it. In an effort to save a few bucks I bought this one. But the hard plastic one that my children had was much better. Sorry to report this. Schwepp's Ginger Ale bottle is almost impossible to open. I may write to them as well. Last chance was running the bottle under hot water and it was only then that this product worked. :(

I'm not sure all what the smaller tool does but the bigger tool can accommodate many different size lids and I use it a lot. Even lids on pop bottles come off easy. I used to be able to take them off with my hands but with my arthritis I can't use my hands as well. This product has made my life much easier. The tools are all very sturdy. I'm going to buy the set for a friend of mine.
