  • Slicing through the competition
This handheld scythe is a game-changer for small-scale gardening and yard maintenance. As someone who has struggled with heavy, bulky tools in the past, I was immediately impressed by the lightweight yet durable construction of this scythe. The sharp, precision-engineered blade slices through tall grass, weeds, and even small saplings with ease, making quick work of overgrown areas. The ergonomic handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, reducing hand fatigue even during extended use. I also appreciated the thoughtful design that allows the blade angle to be adjusted, enabling me to find the perfect cutting position for different tasks. The only potential downside I encountered is that prolonged use while standing can be a bit hard on the back, especially for those of us who don't have the strongest core muscles. However, this issue can be easily remedied by taking frequent breaks or working while seated, as the compact size of the scythe makes it well-suited for use from a seated position. Overall, I highly recommend this handheld scythe to anyone looking for an efficient, maneuverable tool to tackle overgrown areas in their garden or yard. Its performance, ergonomics, and versatility make it a valuable addition to any outdoor enthusiast's toolbox. ... show more

  • WORLDS BEST GARDEN TOOL!!
I have been organic gardening for 50 years and this is by far the BEST tool I have ever used in the garden !!!would give this TEN stars if I could!! It has just enough weight that the tool does most of the work. It slices weeds down like butter and you can use it to chop and pull up large dandelions! I weeded a 12 ft X 5 feet section in about 30 minutes! with little effort! You can use it with a slight swing to the left or just pull back. Hardly any pressure is needed as the edge is sharp but not sharp enough to cut your hand! Terrific invention! It actually makes weeding FUN as it is so easy and everything looks so great after! Try one and you won't be sorry! ... show more

  • Amaaazing little digger!
Ok, first why would anybody make an amazing tool like this with a short handle! It's a back breaker for sure.... buuut, it gets the job done nicely. We have what I call a spider weed that's so ugly it's a long weed with a running root at times 2 ft long. This baby here allows you to break up the dirt and pull that weed up wo breaking it. The tool is sturdy, sharp but that short handle is puzzling. Feels balanced in hand and easy to use. A must for your flower beds bcuz of the small head! It's a keeper. Wish I could figure out how to change that handle. ... show more

  • Fabulous tool
I love this handy tool for weeding in and around my garden! It acts like a mini sickle to slice weeds to the ground and slightly below but also has a pointed tip for quickly gouging out dandelion roots. Nice and sharp, it does the job. Feels good in the hand. I am considering another one to keep on hand. Warning: this is not a child's toy and should be kept out of their reach at all times, as it could cause devastating injury! ... show more

  • Fabulous tool
I have been a serious flower gardener for 40 plus years. I love this tool. It has changed my life and will make weeding so much easier now, even though I thought I had the best weeding tools on the market. I like it so much I ordered another one for my partner. All I need to do is put red electrical tape on the handle so I can find it easier, like I do most of my tools. I highly recommend this great sharp weeder. It works great. It even slices off stalks and you can dig with it too. WOW. ... show more

  • Well designed, good quality steel, comfortable to use
For 50 years I have used a flying wedge weeder and a narrow furrowing hoe to weed my garden. It was time to try something new. This tool looked promising so I thought I would give it a try. The handle is short, but the blade was sharp when it arrived and the steel is hard enough to hold an edge so long as you don't try to scrape weeds off at ground level when they are growing through asphalt or concrete. The tang and the blade are forged from a single piece of steel so there is no concern that it will break where they come together and the tang is secured to the handle with a pin/rivet so that it cannot slip out, and there is a compression sleeve around the handle where the blade is driven in that places the wood in compression so that it will not split. Many garden tools have a cap that just covers the end of the handle and prevents you from seeing that it is split without doing anything to keep it from splitting. As somebody else pointed out, the blade angle is set so that it is easy to use when you bend over to use it but I find that it is also easy to use when I put down a pad and kneel on the ground to work a local area. The beauty of this tool is that the tip is narrow enough and the blade sharp enough to cut off an individual weed that is growing close to something you care about without doing damage to an adjacent shoot. And if you need to cut off a well established clump of Johnson grass, you can attack with the heel of the blade and slice it off at ground level or slightly below with a couple of strokes. The blade is long enough to clean up emerging shoots with a 4" swath. I now carry it with me when I inspect the rose garden and I can reach under a low growing bush far enough to clear out new weeds growing near the base of the plant without any trouble (or pain), and I can cut off a new broad-leaf weed or a tiny spurge growing between two closely spaced alyssum. It is like doing surgical weed removal with little residual damage. When I am done, I wipe off the blade and run a ceramic rod sharpener across both sides of the edge to remove nicks and true-up the blade. Then put a drop of oil on it and lightly rub both sides to fully cover the exposed steel. It goes back into the factory sleeve (which looks like it should last a few years before I have to make something to replace it) and it hangs up to await the next use. I have had it for a few weeks and have yet to find a weed that it can't handle with the flick of the wrist. I just ordered another one for a friend. ... show more

  • Superb tool very sharp and removes weeds great
This is a great tool. I wish I would have had it earlier. It's like a little mini deadly scythe to eradicate weeds with. Just be careful it can cut through your gloves and cut your hand. It's that sharp. It's Japanese made so it's well made. If I could buy everything Japanese made I might do it. They make things quality to last. Very useful lightweight and made to last and it looks cool. Stylish ... show more
