False advertising futon only 2nd half inches thick. I still feel the hard floor after waiting 24hrs for futon to air out and "fluff up". Not useful at all.very disappointing! ****update after expressing my disappointment i was contacted immediately by seller to resolve the issue. I just want to say they offer great customer service if anything is to your dislike. Also very quick to respond to you. I am giving them more stars for that attentiveness than their product.

The futon came packed extremely tightly in a bag and came with an extra bag, a removable cover, and some ties. I let it sit in the sun for three days once I had unpacked it and it definitely expanded (last picture) and is very comfortable to lay on, although a little firm. I bought it to use as a replacement for a full mattress, as my bed is a twin style daybed that can pull out into a full size bed. It folds up easily so it will be perfect to easily store away. Very happy!

I've been sleeping on this futon mattress for a week now and love it. Other reviews I've seen of this seem to have people using this mattress as the complete bed. I don't recommend that. Get a FULI Japanese Igusa (rush grass) tatami mattress to go as the bottom layer, then put a pad, then put this Futon mattress, then blankets. Using it this way works great for a bed system, I'm not going back to bed frame, box spring and mattress system. No surprise, this system creates a very firm surface to sleep on. This came in a box with a mattress case (I'm using it like a sheet) that zips on, straps to secure it for when you roll it up for moving it and a carrying duffle bag type case for it. Extremely practical. In the photos above I'll be adding a pad between the grass mat and futon, it will be coming in a few weeks. If you are considering a simple, easy to use and great to sleep on system, then get this Japanese Floor Mat Futon. During the day you could easily fold it up and put it away or just to gain some extra room.

Speaking from the experience of someone who has severe scoliosis, this futon is pretty comfy and I like how you can feel the firm support underneath without hurting your hips. That being said, I definitely recommend having something else underneath if it’s on hardwood floors. When I had it on the hardwood floor I had to have many blanket providing support in various places because my spine would hurt if I didn’t. When I used it on carpet it was much better and even more so when I added underneath a foam topper and a down topper. After that, it was super comfy except you need a specific pillow or else your neck will hurt. The product itself is very nice and I’m glad I chose this one over the others.

What we got was a knock off of the images shown It is not even 3 inches thick filled with lumps The bag that contains it was also falling apart at the seams I got this as a present for my best friend And it was nothing close to what the images show

The Matt is flat, the picture looked thicker. It’s ok if you were planning on sleeping on the floor. There really is no cushion. I decided to buy i beds on home shopping network for the same price and they are much better quality!!!
