These thermometers work well for adhering to the glass jar to monitor the brew teperature for kombucha. I do need to shine my phone on them sometimes to see where the numbers are highlghted for the read. But, I do have them in a closet, so the light is not great. They stick well to the jar.

I use these on both of my tanks and the pitcher I use for water changes. The tap water in AZ can be SUPER hot in the summer so it's nice for double checking the temp before adding to the tank. Temp has been consistently accurate with the three that I'm using and my tank heater readouts.

It is a great method of keeping easily accessible temperature readings unobtrusively almost anywhere. Placed one on a black refrigerator and another on a black computer tower and they virtually disappeared. However, they do not have their own light and even in simply dim lighting, they are completely unreadable. If bright lighting isn't available or desired, some form of flashlight is required.
