    • Great potential but too many little problems with "renewed" version
I purchased this Janome 500e as a 2nd machine to add volume for my etsy shop. Pros: - Very easy to learn - Nice large work/hoop area - Jump thread cutting a plus - Quiet (when working well) - Direct transfer of designs via usb cable Cons - Thread breakage issues every 5-10 minutes even with many different adjustments - Bobbin thread showing meant near constant tweaks to tension on top and bobbin thread - Grinding noises in bobbin area without any cause, clean, no trap thread, etc. Would be fine for one hooping then exact same pattern next hooping would be loud/grinding I wanted to like and use this machine but after just a week the amount of time I was wasting to remedy issues was well more than the actual stitch time I was getting. I dont know if this is just my version of the machine due to its renewed status or if these are common problems with this model but I would not purchase it again to find out new or renewed. ... show more
