  • This machine really works.
First, kudos to the Amazon seller, Faribault Vacuum and Sewing (First Vacuum on Amazon). They shipped the machine immediately, and it arrived quickly, in perfect condition. Set up was simple and the HD-3000BE worked flawlessly right out of the gate. I started off sewing seams with six layers of heavy upholstery fabric, with basting tape sandwiched in between, and the machine hummed along with no hesitation. Bobbin winding is simple and quick. The needle threader saves a ton of time. The built-in storage areas for the accessories and different presser feet means no more losing stuff. This machine is also very quiet, about half as loud as my no-defunct Singer. The HD-3000BE is nice to look at. Glad I got the black version. It's cool. There are some plastic parts to the machine, but there is a lot of metal. It is nice and heavy, which means it does not jump around while stitching. The foot pedal is very easy to control precisely, so I can go through thick materials as slowly as I want. In my opinion, this machine is a good value, is versatile, well made, and easy to use. It checks all the boxes. I recommend potential buyers scroll through the buying options, and choose a seller with the highest rating, even if it costs a couple bucks more. ... show more

  • Great machine for the price!
The perfect choice for those of us who would not use the bells and whistles that come with computerized machines. Easy to operate and clean. Sews beautifully. Quiet. Stand up well to daily use. This is my second of this model, since I need a backup machine for when one needs service.

  • Great heavy duty machine!
I have been using this machine for the last week and am thrilled with its performance. My old sewing machine is 60+ years old and does not have the power that this one does. I haven’t used all the stitches that are available yet, but I look forward to doing that!

  • Owned for 3.5 years now - would buy again in a heartbeat.
Bought my 3000 HD BE in June 2019. Yes, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Wanted a reasonably heavy-duty, non-computerized sewing machine to stitch leather, heavy-duty outdoor fabric, polyester webbing, multiple denim layers, etc., in addition to typical medium and light-weight fabrics. No, I’m not making gun holsters or horse saddles with it. Neither am I re-upholstering a ’57 Chevy. But this machine has stitched countless patches on motorcycle “biker” leather vests (through very heavy seams). It’s made outdoor furniture cushions with heavy-duty outdoor fabric, marine-grade backing, and full-length zippers. It’s produced corn hole bags (canvas with suede-leather patch), multiple layers of polyester webbing joined with box-X stitching, custom fly-rod rod bags, and blue jean pant repair (belt loops in particular). Lighter weight projects such as tote bags, throw-pillow covers, place mats, window treatments, and the occasional pant and dress hems have all been part of the mix. Bottom line is that this machine has easily handled every project I’ve attempted. Very, very pleased. ... show more

  • This Machine is a Cadillac
After getting knee deep in this Art Form, I was looking for a Machine that is a bit more sturdier and Heavy Duty than the Singer I started working with. The Singer is a great beginners Machine and will always have her on hand. During my research, I was checking out all of the brands, reviews and specs. I had talked with Sewing Machine Tech and during discussion, we had talked about the Jenome brand and that I liked of what I seen. He stated that I would not be disappointed with any Jenome Machine. I have about 6 to 7 hours on her and, I am so impressed ! The Bobbin Winder is smooth as a Baby's Behind. Very quiet yet very Powerful. I would Highly Recommend this Machine for anyone getting into this Art ! I am just getting started here ! ... show more

  • Disappointed
I bought my first Janome sewing machine 22 years ago. And after 22 years the reverse button got stuck. I am getting it fixed. In the meantime I purchase the Janome hd-3000be. I used it once when it arrived in January. It worked great. The second time I sewed on the machine (end of April) and thread began to fray and break in the area before the take up lever, and the thread get stuck or jam in the same area. I am horrified that I cannot return this machine. I did not buy warranty because of my experience with my first Janome. So, not only did I spend money on a new machine, but, I have to spend money to fixed it. ... show more

  • Powerhouse machine and great value
This sewing machine is truly heavy duty. It can sew through thick layers with ease. I use it to make bags (and even sewed a rope bowl with it). Love, love this machine.

  • Not a heavy duty machine.
This machine is currently in the shop for repair after only 4 or 5 projects. 2 pairs of pants. A tactical bag and a couple shirts. The machine will not pick up the bobbin thread at all and the top tension is weak. If you need to sew thick or heavy material this is not the machine for you.
