Not the best, but not the worst.

Pros: It is a nice light weight machine, handy to take to classes. It has plenty of stitches available, which makes it fun for little decorative touches. Cons: Disappointed that it can't sew through multiple layers of fabric. I tried to sew through a thick layer of batting and the machine skipped stitches and I was very frustrated and disappointed. I have to say I was embarrassed when the instructor brought up the fact I had purchased a lower end machine. I didn't realize it was a "lower end" machine when I purchased it, I purchased this machine because of it's weight, it's reputation and I just want to sew.

Great sewing machine

I have been sewing 30 plus years. Clothing at first and then quilts. I have had all manual machines. Brands have been Singer, Kenmore, Brother, Bernina and now Janome. This is my very first computerized machine. I am so pleased with this purchase. No guessing as far as stitch length or tension. The machine automatically does it for you! No pressure foot sewing (part of what sold me!). Needle in position (part of what sold me!) 50 stiches to choose from. Accessories are sparse but good quality. Light is LED and bright enough without being blinding. Fast shipping from seller. Received it in four days! Already ordered a quilting table extension. More bobbins in my Amazon cart! Happy customer.

Love love love

Amazing! I'm so glad I went with this instead of the brother cs2000di. It's beautiful, FAST ( I haven't even tried sewing on the highest level yet). PLUS I haven't even plugged in the pedal, NOT ONE TIME. I just press the button. OMG, Love my Janome. I actually ordered the brother and it got lost in the mail, so i bought this as a replacement after never receiving it. I think it was fate!

Get this machine

I was reluctant to get a computerized sewing machine because I thought the learning curve would be big. You tube made it easy. I love this machine. Even when I am using straight stitches it is so much better than my old Brother machine. I got a darning foot with it and I have been playing with freehand machine embroidery. It’s great. It’s the entry level computer machine and about $250 cheaper than the lowest one at my local Janome store. Yayyy. Made this butterfly playing with my new fancy stitches.

Perfect

I cannot say how simple to use and wonderful this Janome is!!! I had used a friend's and knew it would be special. It's quiet and the instruction manual had to have been written by an actual seamstress as it is straightforward and complete. Take my hubby, but not my Janome. Well, not really, but it's super special and a steal when you check the price against the price on the Janome website!!!

I'm in love with my sewing machine!

I've been sewing all my life. This is a wonderful machine. I have never had an electronic sewing machine before but this beats all the mechanical ones I've had. I love all the features and especially the needle up or down position and being able to sew with or without the pedal. It sews through multiple thicknesses with ease and doesn't skip stitches. I can't say enough good about it. It is a pleasure to use. It's definitely a good deal for the money.

She's a keeper

This is a great basic machine. I purchased it strictly as a back-up/travel machine -- I love it and find I use it more than I thought I would. It runs smoothly, it's quiet, and sews through multiple layers of duck cloth canvas without any problems. Easy out of the box set up, sew and go. Great machine, great price. 5 stars!

Easy and Versatile

I recently purchased a Janome DC1050 through Amazon.Com and I have been extremely pleased with the machine provider and the machine. I just completed a baby bassinet cover and matching fitted sheet. The Janome came equipped with settings to serge my seams, put in a blind hem, zig zag setting for securing elastic together for the fitted sheet, and button holes. I purchased an extra rolled hem foot for finishing the little edges and I plan to get all of the sizes offered in this foot--talk about a time saver-no more measuring and ironing and measuring and ironing... The manual for the machine is pretty good, but I supplemented with online tutorials since most everything I did was new to me. This is a great machine for beginners.
