I bought this machine as a backup. Best stitching results when using top quality thread and Janome Class 15 bobbins. Very simple to use machine and would be great for beginners. Excellent price as well. I like using this machine more than my expensive, top brand finicky computerized machine. (Sometimes less is more and this was about a fifth of the price.) Also remember to use the proper type needle for your project. I loved that it was available in the red (mine), grey, and a blue and very lightweight. Read the manual if you are new to sewing. This is a 100% mechanical sewing machine with a front load bobbin. I traded it for a computerized one with a top load bobbin. The “fancy” machine’s bobbin mechanism broke pretty quickly, and I probably only used a couple of the myriad of stitches available. This is my second jenome sewing machine. The first one was all digital and it was more complicated. However, this one I must give it five stars because it is easy to use.
