  • Overall great so far, best option for the price no doubt! Overall great so far, best option for the price no doubt!
UPDATE 2022: Still the best I've ever owned. I drilled new holes in the base plate for a new stick since I have this model from a few years ago before the upgraded. But still WAY better than Monster or anyone else. The price is unbeatable. Go for it. For the price and what you get it's great!! I have the new model which I haven't seen anyone else post photos yet so here's a couple. Was kinda weird to assemble because the instructions were a little vague but you'll figure it out. I had the Amazon photos of the product to look at to help me up on the screen while assembling. I have one complaint which is why it's not 5 star perfect. I wish it were easier to swap between the throttle and the stick brackets. I play DCS and space Sims with dual stick so I take away the throttle and replace it with another stick. It take a few minutes to disassemble and put the new one on. It's nothing deal breaking but I'm debating buying 3rd mount that way I can just permanently have all 3 controls on their independent mounts. The mount is very sturdy, I was a little bit skeptical because it seems so flimsy when you pull it out of the box but once it's all put together I assure you they've done a great job and making sure the build quality is good. You can tell that they've reinforced certain areas with the brackets. Would be nice to be able to go just a little bit higher up vertically but other than that and the minor control switching the backplates, think any recreational or even more hardcore sim pits will enjoy this. Also a side note I REALLY enjoy the way they changed the tightening latch on the bottom. It's now a big red lever that pushes against the tablr and no longer a twist handle. This allows for REALLY tight application. ... show more

  • Good, stable desk mount for VKB GladiatorNXT/EVO - Latest version - UPDATED 7/5/2022 Good, stable desk mount for VKB GladiatorNXT/EVO - Latest version - UPDATED 7/5/2022
7/5/2022 UPDATE - back to 5 stars. Contacted company using their contact form (I did not find a support link) and explained the problem. They responded in about 48 hours requesting my address so they could send a replacement. They sent me 4 replacement parts, and they appear to be upgraded versions. that appear to be unable to crack, being what appears to be metal and nylon. Left (white) was the replacement. I don't know if this new part is going to become standard or not, but it should. UPDATE - after less than 2 weeks the plastic disk on one of the clamp cracked. It is still working, but I have no idea for how much longer. Dropped rating from 5 stars. Ordered 2 sticks from VKB. For simplicity, I was going to order their mounts as well. After doing some research, they were going to be twice as much (almost 3X with shipping.) So I looked for an alternative. These mounts are universal and work well with the sticks. They hold onto the desk extremely well and are a solid, stable platform. The only movement I experience is my my desk, not the mounts. Assembly was pretty easy and took about 30 minutes to do both, just because there are a lot of screws/nuts. These are the best bang for buck mounts that I've found. I don't usually give 5 stars, but these are totally worth it. ... show more

  • Great product with a few minor gripes on MFD mounting (Updated!) Great product with a few minor gripes on MFD mounting (Updated!)
First of all for the price you can't go wrong with these mounts. They're an excellent value for what you get...a solid joystick mount that works with a wide variety of Joysticks and HOTAS setups. As others have said the directions are more like schematics. You can certainly figure out how to put it together, but it makes things go about 5 times faster if you watch the jpein youtube video showing how to do it (although that video needs an update as it shows parts that are not in the upgraded unit). The great thing about these mounts is that they're really easy to get the placement and firmness you need. One major gripe I have is that if you own Thrustmaster MFD's there is an included mount, but no instruction on how to install that mount. Nowhere on their website. No youtubes. Nothing. I finally kinda figured it out, but I have no idea if I installed it as it should be installed. The MFD's don't move if I press them, but they're not actually attached to the mount. They're just kind of pushed from the backside as I push the buttons from the front. I think they could have made a much better mount for the MFD's. Overall, though this is a great buy for sim combat pilots wanting some deskspace and a solid set up for their throttles and joysticks. Update: I had reached out to the manufacturer about the MFD mounting instructions and they sent the attached photos. Pretty straightforward if you look at the bar mount across the bass of the MFD. You would utilize the long bolt that's included in the kit to attach and lock it down. It holds the MFD's firmly. This photo should be in the manual or at least on the website in an FAQ, but it's currently not. Still I'm grateful for the quick support turnaround. Hope this helps someone who is stuck! ... show more

  • New Model is Solid!
I've seen the negative reviews and seen the pictures associated with them. They're old reviews based on an old models. The model I'm reviewing is the one with the L-shaped brackets in the picture colored in red. No pictures because I'm lazy. Sorry, not sorry. Pros: -- These mounts are SOLID. The toggle clamps are great. When mounted to my desk, they don't wobble AT ALL. The grips grip well and the clamps don't need much pressure to hold. -- This mount should be able to mount quite literally anything you have due to the adjustable universal mounting brackets they've engineered, and how you mount them nothing should protrude out the sides of your sticks or throttles to jab you in the legs. It should be flush. -- The hardware that comes with the mounts are magnetic, meaning either steel or one of the variants of ferritic or martensitic stainless steels. -- The top part of the mount allows for mounting of other peripherals such as MFDs, holders for phones and tablets, button boxes, or whatever else you wanted to mount to it. Cons: -- It's extremely fiddly to put together, however based on the look of all the other mounts on Amazon, those ones are too. -- There were some QC issues with two pieces of hardware: A single screw which was cut about 2-3mm shorter than the others of the same size and one of the sliding T-nuts was tapped incorrectly and stripped as it was smooth where the threads would be. Neither of these two cons are a dealbreaker for me. Follow the Youtube instructions and you shouldn't have any issues. I would absolutely buy these mounts again. ... show more

  • What The Ziplock Bag Heck!!? (Buyer Beware) What The Ziplock Bag Heck!!? (Buyer Beware)
This review does not reflect the actual performance of the product, however I am a little ticked off. I ordered this as a one day delivery and as has become usual, Amazon lost the order. I placed a 2nd order under the risk of being charged 2x becuase I needed a mount. Of course the next day after placing the 2nd order the first order showed up. While the Amazon box was untouched, I could tell there was something wrong. When I opened the box there were pieces strewn everywhere! They sent me a USED unit packaged in ZIPLOCK BAGS!!! There were scratches and clear signs this WAS NOT new! Whoever used this before didnt bother to retape the box leaving parts everywhere! Perhaps the biggest problem is now I am concerned Amazon may see this when I send it back and think I did it! Let's take a moment and look at these pictures. HOW IN THE WORLD does this happen!? How do you charge me full price for such an unprofessional mess!? How did this even make it into the box without it being taped!? Its like a magic trick. There is NO way they did not notice the missing tape. Yet the outside Amazon box was taped and untouched. Anyway, buyer be warned, you may get a used unit in RIPPED ziplock bags after being lost. I've never seen anything like this, and if I do get charged 2x I am taking it to the bank. The unit may be fine or it may be missing pieces, it's hard to tell with this mess. Hopefully it works better than it was packed. Lastly an update on quality, it does seem great, however there is a mounting issue with the X-55 that does not allow room for the cord (see last picture). This could be fixed by simply sending an extra ADJUSTABLE bracket, however as it sits I would hesitate to call it anywhere near X-55 compatible. There is simply no room for the wire. None. Unless you like your USB cable bent at 90 degrees at the base, (OUCH!) yopu have to have it cockeyed or start drilling holes. Also I see NO way of mounting the MFD bracket to the 2nd edition. It's funny becuase the instructions show it attaching to the unit by magic despite not fitting anything and not having any screws specified. Maybe I am missing pieces? I think there was alot of thought and quality here, I just cannot give it any kind of credit having been sent a used unit that took hours to organize and figure out and days to arrive. Also the fact that it is NOT fully compatible with the X-55 makes me scratch my head. It seems like every detail was well thought out for the X-55, except the wire! I think they may be a great company and this a value, but until I get these 2 units sorted, this review stays as is. ... show more

  • Works great with Virpil hotas Works great with Virpil hotas
I have the CM2 throttle and Warbird base for my stick. Both mounted perfectly with included hardware. The included plate fits the warbird mounting holes. The newer version of the CM2 throttle mounted using 2 screws into the plate and balanced with a cross piece. Both are rock solid with no movement at all. I included pictures showing that even on my desk with a metal frame, these can be mounted while retaining stability. During flight in DCS and a couple space games there is ZERO movement. When I grab the base and wiggle it, the only movement is because my desk is moving. If I grab it like it owes me money it will move, but thats not a realistic use. When I mounted flush to the desk, as is more common, the stability was as solid as anything. I am amazed at how firm and stable these are. Price shopping hotas mounts and the value of these is impressive. To the reviews of complicated assembly. There are diagrams and a very rough guide for how these go together. I am not handy, at all. First one assembled in under an hour. 2nd in 20 minutes. Just take a breath and apply common sense, look at the pictures and you'll be fine. ... show more

  • What you save in price you pay for in back pain and frustration
I needed two for the full hotas setup but bought one to see it if it worked well enough to warrant buying a second. In my opinion, it does not. My issues with it are: -Vague and half-assed instructions -Missing pieces -Difficult installation -Extremely frustrating to adjust Pros: -It's cheap. -With a lot of painstaking and tedious adjustments, it'll work. I think. My biggest issue with it is that it's rather unstable and a huge pain in the ass to adjust. The handle that applies the force to the desk to keep the mount in place is mounted in a manner that doesn't allow the handle to move all the back (I tried to turn it but that thing wouldn't budge) which means you can't simple release the handle and move the mount if your desk has a lip around the outside-- you have to unscrew the clamp to remove it from the desk and to attach it to the desk you have to hold the thing in place and then re-screw in that piece while repeatedly adjusting the handle and the distance from the piece resting on top of the desk to the mounting piece..--That requires using the hex wrench to mess with.. If that's hard to follow, it's because it's annoying AF to adjust. It wasn't fun messing with it while hunched over under my desk. After all the work I put in adjusting the thing so it actually felt stable (I ended up using a bunch of cardboard under the desk to protect the desk and make the adjustments a little easier) I was really disappointed to realize that it's missing pieces I needed to actually mount the joystick (Logitech X52) to it. It comes with some extra screws, nuts, and washers but they are the wrong sizes to actually use and what pieces are the right size are too few. At the moment, my joystick is literally just sitting on it. There's nothing holding it in place so it's going to fall over and wobble until I can get the right hardware to actually keep it there. With the end result, I'd have been better off using a card board box to set my joystick on because it'd have saved me 37 dollars, an hour and a half, and it'd have cost me nothing in terms of back pain. 3/10 ... show more

  • Don't expect stability
I decided I wanted to mount a couple of Virpil bases to my desk, and didn't want to wait months or pay the shipping from Lithuania, so I got a couple of these. There are a number of improvements they need to make. When using a stick that has any kind of resistance, the left and right movement causes to two single extruded arms to flex so the entire base rocks left and right. The base plate supports the stick base on two points. While this is nice to have rotation capability, it is a weak point that will break first. The clamp point is also weak. Multi hundred dollar joysticks are being held in place by a single 1/4" threaded post attached to a quick release clamp. It would take very little effort and design adjustment to make this a very sturdy platform using the same materials they are already using. Hopefully the manufacturer reads this and find it enlightening. I paid over $400 for each of my joysticks. While I can use them, I can only do so with "kid gloves" The saying regarding quality is "You get what you paid for." Not so in this case. In this case, it is getting by until I build something better. I will be using their base concept though, along with most of the pieces. Now the good part. They are using decent quality 5 channel aluminum extruded stock. The channel nuts are quite nice and the tolerances they have for all the holes makes the whole assembly snug. They also did a good job trying to account for most manufacturers bases. But I would take stability over gimmick capability any day. ... show more
