  • Excellent and economical alternative to other options
This is an updated review, as I previously got a pair of these to go with a T16000 and TWCS, and then got another pair to go with VKB NXT Evos. I haven't used Monstertech or Foxx, given their price and shipping cost. For the price, it's hard to beat these, especially on sale as they were for $33 each! The versions I got this time do have a minor upgrade in that the clamp now has white nylon material (or something), vs. the black plastic that, while still working, has cracked on my other J-pein set. Again, I found them to be fairly solid, with little flex, though I haven't mounted them at their lowest point. For the price, there is little room for complaint. There is a little flex left to right when using significant force, but it would not be noticeable when playing. Also, for those concerned about the exposed ends of the horizontal mounting pieces, just get 4 of the 1/2" square versions of these - the fit perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/Prescott-Plastics-Inch-Square-Flexible/dp/B0B3N847Z9?th=1 IMPORTANT NOTE: I saw one other review on this, but both of the sets I received (in October 2022 and September 2021) were the version that had the two bar mounting pieces that could be placed anywhere on the horizontal. The pictures for the product now seem to suggest there is a version (newer or older is not clear, though I see review from June/July 2022 makes reference to this potential issue) where one of the bar mounts can only be located near the front of the mount, with little adjustment. This would be significantly problematic for my VKB or likely any stick that requires the bar mounts if you want them low on the mount. That is because the version with the fixed or little adjustable front bar would cause the stick to hit the mount unless it was high enough up, severely limiting your range of adjustability height wise. And if you use a keyboard tray, to get your keyboard at the right height, that will mean the sticks would be mounted likely much higher than you'd want them to be to clear the top of the mount. I did not have this issue - I received the version where both bars can be moved where you want them and so my VKB Gladiators are mounted such that I have full forward motion with the top of the stick slightly above the top of the mount. Again, for the version I got, incredible value. ... show more

  • Make sure you put all end caps on last!
This thing reminded me of the old erector sets.. That being said, it was fairly easy to put together.. Like it says in the instructions, do not tighten (kind of finger tight) any bolts until it is ALL together, and it is all squared up. I used this for a Turtle Beach velocity1 Flight-stick. I was only able to get two of three holes in the base of the flight-stick to line up which skewed the alignment of the stick slightly. Continue to leave the height adjustment screws finger tight, clamp mount to desk, adjust height, and then tighten. It seems plenty sturdy even with the 2 screws. Lastly, the end caps are made of very hard, but brittle plastic. I tried to remove two of them after I put them on, and snapped one of the tangs on each one. No big deal though, it is a terrific mount, and gives you a lot of adjustability. ... show more

  • Great product with a few minor gripes on MFD mounting (Updated!)
First of all for the price you can't go wrong with these mounts. They're an excellent value for what you get...a solid joystick mount that works with a wide variety of Joysticks and HOTAS setups. As others have said the directions are more like schematics. You can certainly figure out how to put it together, but it makes things go about 5 times faster if you watch the jpein youtube video showing how to do it (although that video needs an update as it shows parts that are not in the upgraded unit). The great thing about these mounts is that they're really easy to get the placement and firmness you need. One major gripe I have is that if you own Thrustmaster MFD's there is an included mount, but no instruction on how to install that mount. Nowhere on their website. No youtubes. Nothing. I finally kinda figured it out, but I have no idea if I installed it as it should be installed. The MFD's don't move if I press them, but they're not actually attached to the mount. They're just kind of pushed from the backside as I push the buttons from the front. I think they could have made a much better mount for the MFD's. Overall, though this is a great buy for sim combat pilots wanting some deskspace and a solid set up for their throttles and joysticks. Update: I had reached out to the manufacturer about the MFD mounting instructions and they sent the attached photos. Pretty straightforward if you look at the bar mount across the bass of the MFD. You would utilize the long bolt that's included in the kit to attach and lock it down. It holds the MFD's firmly. This photo should be in the manual or at least on the website in an FAQ, but it's currently not. Still I'm grateful for the quick support turnaround. Hope this helps someone who is stuck! ... show more
