  • Easy application, good appearance
Color: Black Size: 1 Quart Style: Standard - Quart
Application: I applied this to a 12' x 6' plywood, flatbed trailer deck. I worked outdoors with plenty of ventilation. The temperature ranged from 58F to 76F during the period of my application of two coats. I used four quarts in total. This is an excellent product that will serve the exact purpose I desired, weather protection during Montana summers and winters as this is stored outside. I did a thorough preparation by sanding the entire deck with 80 grit on an orbital sander. Then I blew the deck off with a leaf blower and wiped the entire surface down with acetone. The process was easy using a small 4" wide roller. I took my time, no rushing. This product is not overly fast-drying so it allows time to apply it and then go back a few minutes later to distribute the granules. I wish I knew why the can says “Do not shake.” The only real challenge in this application process is keeping the granules evenly distributed in the liquid mixture. Stirring with a paint stick was a good start but the mix didn’t stay well distributed. At first this concerned me but I learned that I could go back after a few minutes and roll the product around one more time which helped to even out the distribution on the deck surface. It looks better and more uniform once it dries. I can’t yet speak to endurance, nor can I speak to the application on a steel pickup bed, but I am very pleased with the application process and the final appearance on a plywood deck. ... show more

  • The best option for repairs, touch ups and full or partial application, like a worn tail gate lip!
Color: Black Size: 1 Quart Style: Standard - Quart
This most closely resembles commercial spray in bed liners. My tail gate was badly worn through. With basic prep and cleaning, this roll-on was the easiest and best matching for texture and durability. Don't use the aerosol can for true application. That is only good to spiffy up the inside of the bed and seal all the inside corners. ... show more

  • Good Stuff
Color: Black Size: 1 Quart Style: Standard - Quart
I used this to cover the plywood base of my utility trailer recently. So far the stuff looks pretty darn tough, but time will tell of course. I'd give it a 5 but the application was tricky and not like anything I've ever applied before. First, there is a sticker on the lid that says "do not shake, contents under pressure" (???) and there were two curious little metal clips holding the lid down to back that up. The first can I got was nearly impossible to open with a screwdriver or paint can opening tool. I had to resort to vice grips and partially mangle the lid and can. The second can opened easily. Because of the pressure warning and the clips I made sure I read all of the super fine print instructions thoroughly, and because the product seemed so unusual already I didn't deviate. There was no mention of stirring so I didn't, and by the time I got to the end of the can the majority of the little rubber bits were packed on the bottom and I immediately realized my mistake. Stirring the second one thoroughly and often resolved that issue. Work fast. After I poured some into my roller pan it was easily workable for a while, and then before I could use it up it started to set into a thick cottage cheese-like consistency. I had to scoop it out with the brush and smear it around and then work it really hard with the roller to spread it out. I eventually figured out that working in small areas and keeping the lid on the can between pours was key. The next issue was clean up. This stuff is STICKY. Definitely wear nitrile gloves, and I'd recommend a long sleeve shirt and pants that you don't care about because if there's skin it will find it and getting it off is no easy matter (smears lasted a week or more and required several lestoil scrubbings to remove). If you roll it you can count on it flying off which is when most of it got stuck on me. You can also count on it pretty much ruining whatever you apply it with. Because of the overall mess I decided not to use solvent to clean my roller, brush and pan, I was just glad to be done. Lastly is the odor. This is stuff is solvent-based and nothing to mess with. Wear a respirator and make sure you've got good ventilation, as in outside, you'll be glad you did. Overall though it looks like a pretty good product and I'm glad I used it. Hopefully it will hold up. Good luck! ... show more

  • Herculiner roll on bed cover.
Color: Black Size: 1 Quart Style: Standard - Quart
Goes on easy, just make sure you continue to stir it so you get the benefit of all the particles in there spreading out while you do the job. Looks amazing and is a quality product. I just used a paint brush provided in the kit not the rollers as it was so easy to do you didn't need the extra mess with rollers. Make sure to tape off the areas you don't want to get it on cause it is the bomb and heavy duty. ... show more

  • This stuff is awesome!
Color: Black Size: 1 Quart Style: Standard - Quart
I don’t know why people have a problem with taking the lid off. I pried off the two clips and used a flathead screwdriver to pry off the lid just like any other paint can. It’s important to mix this paint thoroughly because it separates into liquid and grit. I mixed it for almost 2 minutes and made sure to use in warm temperatures (65 degrees in sunlight) after sanding and cleaning the surface. It takes awhile to dry so leave plenty of time for that. And yes, it smells awful. I used this on the rock rails on my Jeep. I had been wanting to put a rough liner on them and the spray on version wasn’t cutting it. THIS IS THE STUFF! It was so easy to roll on or brush on. It looks great. I wish it was more matte or flat rather than shiny. I’m hoping it will fade in time but it’s super easy to work with and looks great. ... show more
