I’m in TEXAS. Yeah it’s HUMID here. And Ive tried several dehumidifiers sent them all back. I live in 600sq ft. This thing sucks so much water I empty it in august every two to three days. Over 2gal, it amazes me bc when it’s full I feel it, I mean my mood literally is worse, and I realize oh its the dehumidifier I need to empty it, and it always is. One PROBLEM was my fault, I didn’t read and had a knob not turned “off” in back or something. (I hired a person to deal with it) and I had what I thought was leakage. It was bad. But it was me not closing switch in back. I will use the hose eventually but you bet I’ll make sure it’s on well and I’ll comb the reviews bc if there’s a way to work with it I think this machine is very worth it. What I’ve realized is: You need a compressor, you need a pump, you need a beast and yes hot air will come out but once the humidity is lowered and you have AC where you like it you will FEEL BETTER. This has been a summer from hell and also I’m so sick of buying stuff that doesn’t work. This does. I don’t know what the criteria is in those “BEST OF rankings” bc I tried three of them, no, no, no. And now that I see how much water this pulls I know it works. Less potential for mold, I feel better. And the thermostat oddly doesn’t have to be as high (I can’t explain that, bc it does give out hot or warm air) but it’s in another room. I sort wonder why we don’t use ac type ducts for the warm air but it’s fine. Oh, and IVE HAD IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. ... show more

The unit was very effective for 2 years then the pump out feature stopped working. Customer support could not advise as to a solution. I was told there are no parts available nor a detail diagram of the internals of the unit. Their was no authorized repair shops. I would rate the reliability poor.

I placed the unit in my crawl space and ran the pump hose outside. Within a few hours the humidity went from 73% to 45%. It is very quiet and efficient. Much better than one that I purchased at Lowes a few years ago.

NC has a lot of humidity in the spring/summer. I bought this unit as a replacement for a competitor's brand. It's early on, but it does a great job of reducing the humidity in my large finished basement. I initially had it collecting moisture into the removable reservoir. It was filling up daily, so I switched to the gravity drain... and so far, so good. I especially like the dual fan speed setting, the "turbo mode" really pushes some air! ... show more
