I have bought gel/foam mattresses in the past with much chagrin at the quality, so, I had some reservations about how this mattress would compare. To my surprise, this is a very comfy mattress. It is a true plush. Not the shi** that many companies mislabel and/or misrepresent here on Amazon. A TRUE plush. And, it hugs you like your Saint Bernard! Big, cushy, comfy, and wholly. I do have a bit of hesitancy with the effort I have to use to sit up and to stand up, as it is so kushy, but the sleep and comfort is out of this world!! I bought this to use on a daybed frame I just bought for the living room. And, I bought this mattress, in particular, for my girlfriend as she has back issues and cannot sleep on my hybrid mattress in the bedroom. She needs special care for her back and has wasted thousands of dollars on mattresses over the years trying to find all-night comfort. She hasn't yet slept on this mattress as it just finished rising (I waited an extra 14 hours (overnight) so that it would FULLY rise before we laid down on it.) I am VERY hopeful that this mattress will be the one for her. I personally slept like a baby. Much better than my own mattress. Though, I like the bounce that my hybrid provides so I don't have to struggle to raise up in a seated position. I highly recommend the comfort of this mattress. And the price at $230 as shipped, was not unreasonable. As long as they make mattresses like this at an affordable price point, I won't ever need to spend $3k on the mattress I really want. This one was especially awesome for the ease of unpacking, to the simplicity of allowing it to fill (no smell whatsoever and I even slept on it after just 3 hours), to the comfort of it from night 1! Although this bed is very very firm I bought it thinking that it would be a little thinner and 8 in is more like 12 in I would say it's very thick but even though it's very firm once you lay on it you sink in and if that's your thing then it's awesome cuz I fell right to sleep and it's not even my bed it was for my daughter ... show more

I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing, people saying its firm, people saying its soft. I think it depends on your weight, but the 8” mattress is pretty on the firm side of things. I am 5’4 and 125lbs and this mattress is FIRM. I still sleep well, and it doesn’t keep me up at night or give me back aches by any means, but it is FIRM. I think that if I weighed more, the mattress would give a little more and provide more comfort but c’est la vie. That being said the mattress came in the box, it was easy to unpack with the help of a friend. I gave it 24hrs and it was fully expanded. The quality is very nice, no weird smells. I would recommend, just know its firmnesses may very well depend on you! ... show more

Great mattress. Very comfortable. It had a smell when it was first opened but I left it out to fluff and air out for a couple days and by the time we used it, it had dissipated. I would definitely buy this again.

This is my first memory foam mattress and I’m SO glad I switched. Easy to unpackage and get set up onto my bed frame. Very slight odor upon unboxing but wasn’t detectable on the mattress, just the plastic and box it came in so I took those outside straight away. I was surprised how fast it came to its full 10 inch height, literally within a few hours, but I still waited 24 hours to sleep on it. I love the removable bamboo cover but still placed a mattress protector over it. This seemed a tad more firm than I expected for the first couple nights but after that now feels more of a medium firmness and perfect in my opinion. I have a lot of hip issues that bring daily pain but after a couple weeks noticed it has been WAY lessened. Upon sitting on the edges there is some give but that’s with most mattresses and this one is way less than my previous spring mattress and I was actually pleasantly surprised.
