Are Bluetooth and ambient sound both stereo (coming through both ears)? Yes, Bluetooth and TSC volume for the ADVANCE BT come through both earbuds. The headphones are designed with separate left and right microphone channels to the corresponding ear to give you spatial and directional awareness. Can the ADVANCE BT earbuds connect to two devices at the same time? Yes, the ADVANCE BT earbuds can connect to two devices at the same time. Can you use Bluetooth while using TSC? Do you have to use Bluetooth to be protected? You can use both Bluetooth and TSC at the same time. Heat activated polyurethane foam ear tips block 26dB of noise so your hearing is always protected, even if you are not connected to Bluetooth. What is Tactical Sound Control? Can it be turned on/off? TSC is a level-dependent technology that uses omni-directional microphones to allow safe sounds to actively pass through the product while blocking harmful gunshot noise. TSC volume can be turned up, down, or off from the control module. Are the silicone eartips the same for hearing protection? Not the greatest, not the worst

First the good. The Bluetooth connection to an iPhone is nice and stable, and the sound quality of streamed music, and phone calls is very good. A little bad, the foam ear buds can be a bit uncomfortable if you don't get them seated just right, however once you do get them seated properly they offer excellent hearing protection to loud noise. The feature that allows you to turn on the external microphone is somewhat useful, however the sound quality is "tinny". I use these daily at work to dampen noise, and still be able to communicate without pulling out the ear plugs. It works to a degree, however if there is noise coming from all directions, the external mic is susceptible to just amplifying all that noise and missing the speech. The battery life is stellar, I work a 10 hour shift, and often have these turned on and in my ears for up to 9 hours if the shop is noisy, and the battery lasts all day without a problem. Usually those 9 hours would including streaming music, using the external mic for conversation, and some phone conversations, so they definitely aren't in idle mode much of the time. The cord that connects the earbuds together is for me, just right. Not so long that they are constantly pulling out of my ears or getting wound up in a collar, and not so short as to put too much weight on my ears. The quality of the overall construction does seem to be a bit, well, cheap. However time will tell on that, so far they have been used an average of 30 hours a week for a month now--killing noise while being able to listen to a book or music is awesome--without any bits falling off or breaking. They do come with a nice carrying case, and while its a bit bulky, I find I use it daily to protect the earbuds while not in use. Edit: Had the earbuds fail suddenly, contacted ISO for help. They quickly warrantied them and sent out a new set. Entire process took just a couple days with an email or two, and the rest of the time was shipping. I have to say, I was impressed by their customer service. I have also had a chance to do more testing at the shooting range with these, and they work excellent for me. My opinion compared to the walker razor x retractable ear buds

I specifically only like the type of ear buds that run wires to the main unit which I can wear around my neck. I don’t like the all in one type like air pods style so that didn’t leave me a ton of choices. I have been using the walker razor x retractable which are around a 180 bucks. The way these work and all shooting ear buds is basically you have a foam ear plug that silences the sound like any other $2 foam ear plug. However they have a microphone built in to amplify conversation etc. When a sudden loud noise like a gun shot happens they basically shut off the microphone and your left with the foam ear plug with no power to it so silence sounds like any other foam ear plug. With that said, any brand will sound the same silenced. There is no brand that silences sounds better than another because they all rely on a foam ear plug. Where the difference lies is a good brand is quicker to silence and has a better microphone to pick up sounds when you need it as well as good audio control, comfort and battery life. So let’s get into it, especially compared to the walkers I have been using for a long time. 1. Power cut off to silence sudden loud sounds: no difference than the walkers. Almost instantaneous. A+ 2. Microphone: much better than the walkers at being able to pick up conversation. Almost as good as the big bulky over the head and ear type of headphones which are the best because of the design. However if you lay your check flat against a rifles buttstock to look through a scope, you can’t with the big headphones. That’s why I get these specifically. Where these are worse than the walkers is they pick up more wind noise outside however with the walkers you can’t even barely hear normal conversation. The walkers are garbage as far as that goes. A- 3. Audio control: the volume from completely off to the next level up where the microphone picks up stuff is way too much of a big gap. You either hear nothing like a cheap $2 foam plug or go to loud, louder or loudest on the settings. The walker def has these beat here. C 4. Comfort: not as comfortable as the walkers. They have a loop that goes over your ear and the wires are not long enough to rest on your neck so they kinda hang there. There is a clothes hook that comes with them however to attach it to a collar etc. The walkers have a neck brace type apparatus that lays on your neck with only a wire going to the ear plugs. An awesome setup. Still, the isotunes are not bad at all and you barely notice them. B Battery life: here is where the walkers really are horrible. Can’t get more than an hour and a half without it dying shutting off. The ISOtunes last much much longer. How long? I don’t know yet but after a 4 hour range session the ISOtunes were still going strong. A+ They both have excellent Bluetooth connectivity. Overall, The ISOtunes are def much better than the walkers. You can actually hear when people are talking to you and they don’t die after 90 minutes. Comfort although slightly less is similar. It’s a small gap unlike the battery life and mic clarity. I would buy the ISOtunes again in a heartbeat. Hopefully they last a while and don’t die on me within a few months. I will update any long term observations ... show more

Effective EarPro, Long Battery Life, Surprisingly Good Sound

I use them at the range, for hunting, and working with power equipment. The hearing protection is excellent. Select the correct size ear tip, and they effectively isolate noise and are all-day comfortable. (The ear tips do need occassional replacement to maintain protection.) Battery life is never an issue. I've used them for 8-10 hours a day for several days without having to charge them. With 7 external sound levels and directional microphones, it is easy to maintain situational awareness, have a conversation or hear movement in the woods. Bluetooth connectivity is a bonus, and the audio quality when listening to music or podcasts is surprisingly good. However, volume level is limited to a 'safe' level. They are earpro afterall. Wind noise and clicking or sharp sounds will cause the sound to be clipped, but I've gotten used to it and don't find it distracting. Phone calls are possible and the incoming audio is clear, but I'm told that my voice is very muffled. This is the first time I'm writing a product review, and I chose to write this one because of Isotunes Customer Service. About a week ago, the right earbud audio stopped working. I contacted Isotunes Customer Service via the Amazon product link, and recieved a prompt response with a request for additional information which I provided. Although the headset was purchased in April 2023 and legitimately out of warranty, I explained it was a Father's Day gift that wasn't unboxed until June. Thick and scratchy

Even the smallest plugs feel very thick and scratchy in my ears. Very uncomfortable when wearing for hours at a time. As plugs they work very well, just like having normal in ear soft plugs. When I turn the Bluetooth on it connects and does well passing the sound through. Conversations sound very clear. I was not able to test with gun shots but I wear ear plugs frequently for my job because I work around machinery. These are NO GOOD for blocking out machinery! No matter the setting of background noise it creates a humming in the ear that gives me a headache. I like the idea and this is a good start but it still needs some work. ... show more

Minimizing decibels not features

BLUF: Due to headphones getting in the way and different issue in the ear, I recommend Isotunes Advance Bluetooth, Axil GS or something similar. If you care to read my long winded comment… I am probably similar to everyone else hear where I have tons of different types of ear protection. Thus, this is my opinion and I have no grounds as a pundit. I will say I take my hearing extremely serious due to the fact of my age and I have a lot of life left; I want all my senses to experience it. As previously stated, I have or have had all types/ models of ear pro: plugs, foams, headphones, and in the earbuds. Since, I shoot Multigun I am always refining my setup which includes my ear pro. As you stated, when mounting a long weapon, I may jar the ear pro or the ear pro may impede in mounting the weapon correctly. I shot matches with my Peltor headset for awhile; then I switched to plugs or foam buds. Plugs were great to prevent hearing injuries but were extremely uncomfortable in my ear canal. Foam plugs could fall out or I would want to ‘chew the fat’ and take them out. I have to put the foams in my ear canals specifically to creat a seal which because tedious. For the longest time, I saw Axil’s becoming more popular and the appears on my Facebook. A USPSA buddy of mine, got a BOGO deal on Axil GS. So, he bought a set; the second one he gave to his best shooting buddy, his SON not me. During training sessions and matches, he raves about them for all the advantages easy to employ, hearing augmentation/enhancement, decibel limiting, and they don’t cause issue when mounting a rifle/ shotgun. What I noticed is he leaves them all day during a match! So, I waited months to find a sweet deal like he did. That BOGO deal never came back, so I started shopping around for similar brands to AXIL and found ISOtunes. Which, I purchased on Amazon. They have all the same characteristics of the AXIL GS at the same price, they are basically the same thing. I highly recommend the transition to these or similar product. During training sessions, I will use the Bluetooth function to listen to music or take a call (it has a Bluetooth microphone). Sound quality for music, phone call, and even the hearing enhancement/ augmentation is ok, but these models are on the cheaper side. Additionally, the Bluetooth cuts out periodically; for example listening to music on the range and approximately once per hour the Bluetooth connection pauses for a second and connects again (this includes when cell is on my person, I have other Bluetooth devices that have no issues). I enjoy how the ISOtunes fit in my ear then have the plastic molding that makes the connection cable go over the outer ear. and I like the connection cable, because sometimes I do still take them out and wear the like pseudo necklace during a conversation and then put them back in (minimizing the chance loosing AirPod still hear protection). Poorly Built - Returned 2 sets, crackling and loose wires

This could be a good product if it was built with quality. On my first set, the left ear bud was crackling right out of the box. When I manipulated the wire, it would crackle very loudly. On my second set, the right side wire into the ear bud was loose. The audio was good and they were working properly for about 5 minutes. Then the left ear bud started crackling just like my first set and there was a tone in the audio. For the 5 minutes that they worked, it sounded pretty good. However, the noise clipping takes way too long to recover back to full volume. Several seconds. The noise protection is also way too aggressive. A light hand clap or even loud talking activates the noise compression. I do not see that this is adjustable. So even if these were not poorly built - I still would not be happy with how the product performs. ... show more

High Noise= Yes, Shooting == NO!

I am so disappointed. Bought these after a lot of research thinking they were rugged, worked in a (steady) high noise environment, BT to the phone, and would be great for shooting. Well, they check all but one box. 2 weeks ago, I took these to the shooting range, paired them, turned them on, adjusted the background (amplification) level and was ready to shoot. Boom! A shot from a few stalls down and I though someone slapped my ear. By the 3rd neighbor shot, I was holding my hands on my ears. Once I adjusted the background sound level down to zero, and carefully reset the foam plugs, it was bearable. Just to compare, I pulled out my Walker over the ear muffs -- much better. Plain foam ear plugs -- much better. Today, I had the opportunity to try a pair of ISO ear buds -- those worked. They would react at the mere snap of the closing of the lid of the charging pod or snapping my fingers. I don't know if these Sport Advance buds are defective or if they are designed to NOT block shooting, or if I just don't have them set up correctly. There really are not any instructions anyplace. So, it is too late to return them. They will work great for the garage, mowing, maybe motorcycle riding. But, not for shooting. ... show more

Good Noise reduction and good sound quality.

I have been using these for a couple weeks now and they seem to be holding up well. I do take very good care of them though. Bought them for work. I work at a heavy machinery welding and fabrication shop, so there is constant hammering, grinding, and loud engines. I got tired of trying to anticipate when loud, unexpected sounds were going to happen and having to take my earplugs in and out all the time. These worked better than expected. I can hear my surroundings well and talk to my coworkers. When a loud sound happens, they almost instantly cut the sound so your ears are not damaged. I really love that I can listen to my music, still hear my surroundings, and be protected from loud sounds all at the same time. The sound quality of music and phone calls is great. The battery life is impressive as well. I could probably get 2-3 days of full time use at work on a single charge. And as a bonus, they fit under my motorcycle helmet. The one drawback is that even the smallest foam tips hurt my ears after wearing them for hours on end. Overall though, they are pretty comfortable and sometimes I forget I’m even wearing them. It’s also nice that they are sweat and dust proof, which makes them great for working in a hot, dirty shop. As long as they hold up over time, I would definitely recommend them. ... show more
