    • Solid product, but definitely not a miracle worker
It's not bad, but not sure it'd be the best buy for eliminating pops. Generally, wind shields don't do an excellent job of blocking pops, but the product name "Rode WS2 Microphone Pop Filter/Wind Shield" advertises it as such. In my personal instance, I wanted to try it with my podmic (because I get minimal popping). If you choose to not position your mic directly in front of you, and instead to the side- this works relatively well with negating pops (depending on how much to the side it is). I'd also imagine minimal gating for breaths; mind not at a great degree. Surprisingly, it didn't muddle my highs as much as other wind shields (cheaper materials). The material feels and appears pretty sturdy. It fit my podmic like a tight glove. Don't expect miracles, but for some rather minimal adjustment to an amateur's setup: this is probably the easiest to deal with when it comes to the spacing of your area. Standard pop shields (the circular mesh screen) would work a lot better for a home setup for pops, but at the sacrifice of space & possible adjustments regularly.     • If You Can't Use a Pop Screen...
This pop filter seems to color the sound quite a bit and also changes the amount of reflected sound coming into the mic. Good news is that it is kind of helpful with a RODE PodMic which is very high-shifted in frequency response. You're never going to get the proximity sound you want with a PodMic but this does tame the highs a bit and cuts down on room echo some, also. Downside is it's very, very coarse and huge. It's like talking into a big black porcupine. This would be a lot better served on a condenser mic than an end-address mic but then why wouldn't you just use a pop screen instead and not lose the highs? I'm not a huge fan and am very glad to have upgraded to an SM7B. ... show more

Switched to the podmic for making YT vids, streaming, and zoom calls and it’s been great. I wanted to add something to filter my slurs (I have a gap in my teeth and you can really hear it through mics) and this filter really made a big difference!
