ionic P4820-WSB Commercial Ultrasonic Cleaner, 2. 6Qt/2. 5L, white color, stainless steel wire mesh basket, heater, 110V. Equipped with an industrial grade ultrasonic stack transducer which is twice stronger and more durable compared to wafer transducers used by some manufacturers in their commercial models. The generously proportioned stainless steel tank is designed to clean long items such as dental instruments and silver wear. The stainless steel tank is also polished for easy cleaning. It's compact for small counter spaces. Heater is preset at 149F/65C and runs indecently to cleaning. Cooling fan helps for longer operation. Overheat protector prevents the unit being overused which could cause overheating. Quieter than most competitors' products. 5 international safety certifications including GS for Germany which has the toughest safety standard assure the highest quality. Optional plastic basket, 25-minute timer are available.

This ultrasonic cleaner works very well, especially when the correct solution and temperature are used. I have been using it primarily for cleaning brass shell casings, along with the RCBS case cleaning solution. My result has been like-new brass with just two or three 15-minute cycles, with the heat on and a few minutes of soaking between cycles. It's more powerful than a lot of ultrasonic cleaners out there and is simple to operate. It's not too loud, either. I'll be using it for all sorts of things in the future. My one complaint would be the lack of a drain valve, as emptying the tub can be pretty messy if you don't do it right. ... show more

    • Does an OK job, but not great job
This unit cleans the brass cases fairly well, but they are not polished like a tumbler does. You have to run it 2 or 3 times to get really dirty cases clean (like the nasty ones you pick up off the ground at the range). Also, even though the cases are clean, they tarnish almost immediately after they are rinsed off. I guess that's no big deal and will not affect the loading process or accuracy. It could also be due to my well water even though it is run thru a softener. If I could find a rinsing solution that would leave a tarnish-resistant finish, it would be great! I found that a solution of 1 qt. hot water, 1 cup white vinegar, 1 Tbsp salt, and 1 Tbsp of liquid dish soap or Simple Green actually cleans the brass as well or better than the included cleaning solution. And, it's a lot cheaper. I found this formula on one of the shooting forums on the internet, so I do not take credit for it. The unit appears to be well made, and comes with a stainless steel basket and the cleaner solution. It's easy to clean out after use. It is reasonably quiet. I noticed that this same unit is marketed under several different names, including Lyman. It's also marketed as a jewelry cleaner, but with only a 4 minute timer, so be careful that you order the brass case version with the 25 minute timer. If an ultrasonic cleaner is what you want, this is a pretty good one for a reasonable price. Durability is still TBD, as I have only cleaned about 400 .38 Special cases so far. ... show more
