The basket could be a little more robust but for the price it's a 5-start so long as it lasts a little while. 30L is a lot to fill. What I do most of the time is fill it with hot water from the tap then place whatever I am cleaning in a separate container with the cleaning solution. Sometimes I use a large mason jar with the lid on and set it in the hot water, other times I've used a plastic storage container to house the solution and parts I'm cleaning and set that in the hot water so it floats. Rarely do I use cleaning solution directly in the cleaning tub--easier to clean, not as expensive to run. Takes a 4-barrel carb with significant room to spare. ... show more

    • Performs well but don’t trust the temp gauge!

I’ve used this a couple of times and it delivers great results. But most cleaning chemicals have a maximum temperature. The temp gauge was WWAAYY off. Measuring the temperature of the fluid at around 110F was equivalent to 85F on the dial gauge. If I had relied on the gauge calibration, it could have caused a fire with the solution. Dangerous feature but easily adjustable; especially for the price of the unit. ... show more

Out of 4 carburetors from 1 Yamaha outboard engine I ran through it, none came out pristine but next carb I do, I'm going to try some different chemicals. This run was with de-ionized water and Dawn detergent. Oil was defiantly removed but had to use other chemicals to get the hard junk out of the jets. ... show more

1. The amount of fluid this cleaner holds is not 1/3 gallon / 1.3 liter. The User Manual correctly indicates it's actual capacity of 0.26 gallons, however it actually says 0.26 gallon / 1.3 liter which is not equivalent. The accurate metric capacity is 0.98 liter. 2. Admittedly this is very case specific and might sound a little silly, but the tank size is slightly smaller due to the curved corners. I bought this to clean something which I knew would be a tight fit, but after reviewing the dimensions it should have just barely fit; however, due to the corners being rounded, it does not. (this ones more on me, but something to consider nonetheless.) 3. Although there may be ways around using the basket, it is NOT recommended. This reduces the usable capacity to (depending how you look at it since the basket gets smaller at the bottom) 5.25" x 4.5" x 1.75" at the top of basket or 4.25" x 3.5" x 1.75" at the bottom of basket. 4. I bought this to use in my garage and it's been great for my current engine rebuild project. I've used this to clean the heads, pistons and even block halfs of the EJ25 I'm working on and it's great. Two things to keep in mind 1) make sure you are using an appropiatly diluted cleaner with DI (filtered) water and 2) make sure you can be out of the garage while it's running (the noise can be really annoying for some people). ... show more
