I'll start by saying that the instructions both were lacking a lot of details, and were inaccurate in a few parts. Firstly, I was put off by the instructions mentioning the input was 240V and showing a European plug, even though the listing showed it as 120V with the correct plug for North America. Thankfully, the correct cord came with the machine, and it was actually designed for 120V. Secondly, it doesn't mention or show anything about the basket or the little plastic piece (that I now think is meant as a necklace/earring holder), so I wasn't sure what their purpose was at first. Moving on from the instructions, the machine itself feels like it's a quality and/or industrial machine. It's made of all metal, is well put together, and feels solidly built. When operating it, it's clear that there is plenty of energy being put through the water or other cleaning solution, and at a high frequency. It worked fantastically on the various items I cleaned with it (rings, eyeglasses, and combs), and I'm really pleased with its cleaning action. The only complaints I have about the machine itself is the noise it makes, and how difficult it is to pour out the liquid without some of it running down the side of the machine. It's quite loud, and is not something I want to be around for extended periods of time when running because of that. That said, the noise is expected as with any ultrasonic cleaner, so that's not a strike against it in my opinion. But I HIGHLY suggest you follow the instructions' advice of unplugging it before you try to fill or empty it due to the water wrapping around the lip and running down the side of the machine when dumping it out. The size is a little deceiving. It's plenty big for eyeglasses and other small items on its own, but if you use the included basket, you lose so much of that ~1 liter volume that my eyeglass couldn't even fit anymore while remaining fully submerged. Yet it's advised with ultrasonic cleaners to use the basket to avoid scratching/damage, and to allow for better cleaning. On top of that, the basket unfortunately seems to attenuate a lot of the cleaning forces, and in my experimentation made a large difference on the cleaning ability of the device. And another complaint I have with the basket is that it and the cover don't seem to have had any consideration put into their use. The cover fits perfectly without the basket, but with the basket the cover just sort of sits there off-kilter because of the flanges on the basket that hold it up. I would have loved to have seen the cover slightly modified so the flanges would fit, or the basket to have used a different design to hold itself up. If I look at the entire package as a whole, I probably would knock another star off. But focusing on the machine itself, and how well it works, I stand by my choice of 4 stars.

I was interested in something to clean my chain and my wife’s jewelry. I didn’t know there were consumer versions of cleaners used in stores. This came quickly and was packaged very well. Double boxed with lots of foam. The unit appears well made and is from China. The instructions however were quite entertaining. I mean one doesn’t need to have an engineering degree to throw jewelry into a tub and turn it on but these instructions were written by someone who took English on an app for a week. I mean someone over there must have a friend in the UK or USA to say “hey look this over for a sec. “ The unit has touch sensitive buttons even though they appear to need to depressed. A nice feature really. The settings are very straight forward. Set your time and the unit will degas for 6 seconds then perform the clean. Water is all that is needed and what I used for the test but I am going to try a self made cleaning solution and update the review. I chose my cross and my wife’s and my beat up wedding rings for the test. I filled with tap and put the unit on for 5 minutes. I could see the dirt fall off the jewelry and there were black spots forming where the pulverized dirt landed. I took an old toothbrush to dust off the remainder of the loose dirt and you can see in the pics even with just water it did a good job loosening and cleaning. Emptying the unit I could see those dark spots were like powdered dirt from being pulverized by the sonic vibration. Over all I am happy. If I see any problems long term I will be sure to update and I may update with a self cleaning solution of 7 parts water, one part Mr. clean and a dash of dish soap as recommended online. This unit would blow through purchased solution so it’s economic to make one’s own. But I have to say it’s fine with tap alone and a little scrub with a toothbrush. I have tried cleaning with toothbrush alone in past and the dirt never came off like this. I recommend this as a good consumer unit and I think anyone would be content with the results. Enjoy! Update: you can see from the last image that using the above DIY cleaning solution makes a HUGE difference. Just a 5 minute session. Good little unit.

it's got a nice stainless interior and exterior, so should stand up to shop use. The unit was a bit smaller than I expected, the basket is about the size of a mechanical pencil. The lid doesn't really fit tightly when the parts basket is in the unit so -1 star for that. The instructions are laughably badly translated and nearly incomprehensible. Fortunately there's not a lot you need to know. It does warn you not to overfill past the maximum fill line, unfortunately there's nothing marked as such so you're left to guess where that line is. I'm thinking it's the ridge in the tank about 1" down from the rim. Theres no mention of a heater, and I didn't detect any noticeable warming during a 5 minute cycle, so I guess you'll want to pre-heat whatever cleaning solution you use. It came with a curved plastic comb-like object, I'm guessing that's to hold jewelry chains and the like.
